TRIP OF A LIFETIME

  • 5 of 5
We just had an incredible stay in this rustic little cabin. Perhaps too rustic for some, but for others it potentially provides for the trip of a lifetime. Each morning as we looked out at the water (just feet away) we said to each other that we couldn't believe it was ours for the week. Highly recommended.

CHARMING AND REFRESHING

  • 4 of 5
We arrived later in the evening and the host could not meet us but he was very kind and had lit candles (little electric kind) outside on the wharf and it was so inviting. The unit was exceptionally clean and very well appointed. The shower unit was also very clean and sweet. The linens and towels were top quality and the decor (colors, fabrics, etc.) were just lovely.

Our favorite part was sitting out on the lovely chairs with umbrella table drinking coffee and reading in the morning. I really could have stayed on the wharf all day but we had friends to meet and things to do. I loved being able to walk to all the restaurants and shops and there is a great little place just a few buildings west of the property that had great take-out breakfast and fantastic deli items. The staff at the restaurant that you have to walk through to get to the property were super friendly to us.

There was one problem and it was kind of awful; there was a party in a unit very close to ours (I think it was behind our unit as seen through the window by the sink). The party hit its peak at about 3:30am. There was howling and stomping and very loud music. It did not stop until about 6:30am. There was no escaping the noise since there were times when the whole wharf seemed to be shaking. It really put a damper on our experience but when you are in a party town what can you expect.

Would I go back? For the location, the friendliness of the host, the charming clean little room and the most amazing wharf to sit and relax on, yes. For the risk of not getting to sleep because of a party, I'm not sure.

I really liked this place and would have given it a total 5 star rating because it was really nice and I would recommend it to friends with the warning of possible loud parties.

Owner's Response: Dear Christine,

I am happy you enjoyed your stay in the wharf cabin, its beautiful waterfront setting and close proximity to all the attractions and amenities in town. I do want to apologize for the unfortunate disturbance you experienced during one of the nights of your stay. I want to assure you that the “party” that went-on that night was a complete anomaly. That part of the West End, particularly out on the wharf is always quiet and peaceful. In the evening, the only “noise” you hear is that of the water under you and lapping on the shore. While you are within an easy walk to all of the hustle and bustle of Commercial Street, the wharf is far enough removed from that so you never hear any of it.

When I returned to Provincetown after your stay, I heard all about that “party” from many of the surrounding neighbors who were also inconvenienced by it. As it turned-out, it was one of the year-round residents, whose son had just completed the college year and decided to “celebrate” with some of his fraternity brothers that night. Their inconsideration and disturbance they caused that night was noted and the parents spoken-to about it. I hope you will not let that unfortunate episode deter you from returning to the wharf for a future vacation.

Sincerely,
David

HEAVEN ON EARTH...

  • 5 of 5
If you are looking for the quintessential Ptown experience this is the place. The cottage is well appointed and the morning sunrises are unlike anything you can imagine. At high tide your living above the water with views of the historic Cap'n Jacks wharf and the Ptown monument which make this the best spot to be in Provincetown. Highly recommended!!

BEST KEPT SECRET IN PTOWN!

  • 5 of 5
We feel so lucky to have found this property after an exhaustive internet search of over-priced. under-improved homes and condos in the Provincetown area.... The room was just as described....cozy and comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing quick weekend or extended stay. Walls and floors were freshly painted and futon was large enough for two of us to be very comfortable. The deck area was beautiful and offered better views than any place we have ever stayed in town. Access to the harbor beach below the pier was quick and easy and allowed for amazing, long walks at low tide. Proximity to downtown was excellent yet far enough away from the noisy crowds of tourists to allow lots of peace and quiet. Relish deli is just two doors down so coffee and breakfast became part of our routine during morning walks. We highly recommend this cabin and look forward to extending our stay next year!

PERFECT SUMMER SOJOURN :)

  • 5 of 5
We loved our stay on the wharf. For us, it was perfection. The cabin was cozy, but well set up for everything we needed. We spent most of our time on the deck and on the beach. Sleeping to the sound of the waves was blissful. We had no need for a car as we got right off the ferry and walked down the street. David was easily accessible and a delight to deal with.
We would recommend this spot to a couple or a single person as it is small. We had family members that stayed down the street and brought their kayaks and small sunfish and they brought them right over to "our beach" and we took turns luxuriating in the sun and kayaking and sailing.
The property was spotless and though a bit rustic, the outside shower was wonderful and a bit of an adventure!
We hope to be back next year.
Thanks to David and the folks from Home Away!

PERFECTION ON THE WATER

  • 5 of 5
Totally cute cabin that's great for one big guy or two small ones! Super convenient to Ptown Inn and Boatslip. You'll see water out of every window. No kidding, it's a small place, but you'll spend all your time on the deck. Clean, fresh and newly fixed up. Gorgeous little shack with everything you need. Best deli in town is a few feet away. Book this.
