Great Ogunquit Spot! Short, Easy Stroll to Downtown and Beach

I have been visiting Ogunquit for 40 plus years since I was a young girl. Now with a family of my own, we have continued the tradition and consider this town our home away from home. This year my visit was made even more magical by staying at this cottage which is steps from the quaint downtown and beach. The minute my husband and I with our children pulled into the drive-way into the expansive parking lot, we knew we had made a friend for life. The owner greeted us with a kind-hearted wave. As we walked into the cottage the homey appeal wrapped it's arms around us! The high ceilings, the wooden and tiled floors, the open and airy rooms filled with everything you need for a stay at a beach town.The owner answered any questions we had with enthusiasm and genuine interest. My morning routine consisted first of opening the screened door with a smell of wild Maine rose bushes, heading out to the local bakery for fresh goodies and hot coffee and the daily newspapers. The afternoon choices for us consisted of bringing the supplied beach chairs and boogey board to the beach for fun n sun or heading shopping along Route 1 discovering all the abundant Antique Shops. Dinnertime became a fun game of outstanding choices deciding from all the menus posted outside each restaurant we could walk to or choosing instead to take the Trolley down to Perkins Cove-a small fishing village where you disembark in front of Barnacle Billy's to eat fresh lobsters or clams caught that morning by the local fishermen. The night ended with a walk the Marginal Way over a mile long along the rocky cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Magical doesn't even begin to describe this wonderfully located cottage. Grateful and lucky though does our feelings from this experience. If you are looking for comfy, cozy with a touch of enchanting , make this your next vacation.

My family and I have been staying at the Black Boar Inn for close to 10 years. We spend two weeks in the summer having a wonderful time in Ogunquit. We stay in the three bedroom house located behind the Inn. It is a very spacious house where my kids and all their friends can come. It's very clean and has a washer and dryer which are essential for two weeks at the beach. The sky lights add extra light into the rooms and the large screened in porch makes game night feel as if we are sitting right on the beach. The house is located away from the main road so we don't hear the traffic, but we are a two minute walk away from all the action, ice cream and nightlife. We really couldn't ask to stay at a nicer place. If that wasn't enough we have grown to love Wayne over the years and can't wait to see him every summer. He makes our summers special. This is my very favorite place in Maine. The accommodations were perfect with special details to make the condo welcoming to me and my quests. The master bedroom is very spacious with skylights and nice master bath The two other bedrooms are good size and also have skylights. The condo is setup nicely, very spacious and open. It is also very, very clean. Great place to relax and be close to the ocean. The owner was always available to help with any questions -- what to do, where to find the best lobster. And do walk the Marginal Way. Looking forward to our next annual stay at Beach Rose Condo this summer.
