About Renee Baker

I am an empty nester who enjoys the Brevard area with my husband who teaches at the local college. My favorites are waterfall exploring, hiking, horseback riding, camping, art, and interior design. This area provides plenty of nature, people and resources to help you explore. It doesn't get any better than this! For more photos and blogs about the farm see...

Why Renee Baker chose Brevard

We love the pastoral setting, but really fell in love with the unique barn-wood interior of this home. Interior design is one of my passions, so furnishing the home was super fun. They don't build them like this anymore. Living on the farm, we love the area and are happy to share it with our guests.

What makes this barn unique

A unique farm setting with friendly animals, fresh farm eggs, and all the amenities you may need! We are centrally located in the heart of hiking, kayaking, mountain biking and cycling country, we are happy to provide information to you about the area and activities available. There are many resources for hiking, climbing, fishing, as well as shopping and dining,

Guestbook comments from the owner

Fodderstock Farm is a true gem! There is so much warmth and hospitality coming to this beautiful place. Our family had a marvelous time relaxing throughout the week, playing in the back pasture, and seeing the local sites. The location affords all the nature wonderlust you could ask for in Appalachia. We hope to return for another great stay!

What a great time we had in beautiful Brevard, North Carolina! We loved our stay at Fodderstack Farm -- beautiful, clean, friendly, helpful hosts, delightful farm critters, gorgeous Pisgah National Park and Dupont State National Forest full of stunning waterfalls. I don't just want to visit again, I want to live there! I highly recommend the accommodations at Fodderstack Farm. Perfect for a family vacation or a getaway with an outdoorsy group of friends. 5 Stars!

Wonderful accommodations! Immaculately clean and comfortable. Our hosts were friendly and full of suggestions for fun! The farm menagerie is absolutely delightful. We especially loved the friendly chickens. The nearby Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State Recreational Forest -- the land of waterfalls -- are absolutely stunning in their beauty. The town has plenty of shopping, dining, and nightlife to offer. I highly recommend this area of the US and staying at Fodderstack Farm!

Enjoying Renee Baker's place like it was our own.

  • 5 of 5

I brought my daughters and granddaughters to Fodderstack Farm for a wonderful weekend at Biltmore to view the Downton abbey clothing exhibit. The Farm and Renee Baker were also the highlights of our stay. It was so comfortable and welcoming. My girls especially loved all the animals and gathering the eggs. they also revisited their childhood making s ' mores around the fire pit . Lovely place and we will return. Encourage my friends also. Barbara Pate

Undiscovered gem!

  • 5 of 5

We usually like to stay someplace new every time we travel, but we make an exception for Fodderstack Farm. After visiting last summer we HAD to bring more family members to share this incredible place! The hospitality of the owners, the comfort of the accommodations, the proximity to all the places we wanted to visit, and the friendly animals ... all good reasons to return! We will be back!

Loved it!

Our family had a great time at Fodderstack Farm! Renee was so kind and made our visit very comfortable. She has put so much thought into every detail of the barn and the needs of her guests and has excellent local tips. Our children had a wonderful experience with all of the animals and on the farm. It was exactly what we all needed and were hoping for. Thank you for the opportunity to experience your unique farm! We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect and hope to visit again really soon!!!

Beautiful farm house in Blue Ridge Mountains

  • 5 of 5

We had just a wonderful stay--the house is amazing: three large bedrooms with baths, big comfortable living room and dining room, we'll-equipped kitchen. It's both comfortable and lovely, with beautiful views out all the windows. Renee couldn't have been nicer, and welcomed our children each morning to help with feeding the animals and chores. We all had a great time, but especially the kids, who felt it was their personal responsibility to check the chicken coop for fresh eggs and brush the donkeys multiple times throughout the day. Close to charming towns, biking, hiking, riding.
