Great home, great location, great owner

This little Venice Beach bungalow is small but cosy and homely, and in great condition compared to some other properties we've seen through HomeAway. Nice brand new furnishings throughout - big sofa and armchair in the living room, good beds in the bedrooms, an excellent shower bathroom, great big cooker oven, refrigerator, and a HUGE kitchen sink (definitely big enough to bathe a 14 month-old baby in!). A handy little backyard that gets the sun, and has off-street parking. Colourful Venice Boardwalk, and the quieter Santa Monica Beach, and Marina-del-Ray are a short walk away which was great for my wife and baby to go for walks during the day while I was out at meetings. All the shops, cafes and superb restaurants of Abbot Kinney are thirty seconds away on foot. But the real selling point here is the owner Jen herself. She was incredibly helpful and welcoming and any problems we had were dealt with with no fuss and superb speed and good humour. When I arrived on my own (my wife and baby arrived a few days later) Jen had put some breakfast things in the refrigerator, gave me some excess food from her own home that she didn't need (that was delicious), and even invited me round to a drink's party! February was a little unseasonably chilly here at night, especially with the house's original louvre windows, but Jen immediately offered portable heaters and extra blankets, and when the porch light malfunctioned she had an electrician out straight away to fix it. Highly recommended!
