Unique Stylish 4 Bedrooms Retreat in Bali
Estate Villa Kalyana is an exquisite 4-bedroom property sitting on 3300- square meters of pristine land, amid delightfully landscaped gardens of tropical flowers and palms, complete with a sizeable swimming pool. Centered on an antique Javanese Joglo found in the main dining – living area, the scene is set for what could be described as a walk through the ages of Indonesia.
All the bedrooms at Villa Kalyana have a spacious feel, and en-suite bathrooms. They are all beautifully appointed with singular decorative pieces chosen to fit each style, each being unique at the hands of the talented interior decorator owner. The finest linens and first-class bedding contribute to a truly peaceful and restful night. Each bedroom is equipped with air-conditioning and ceiling fans, as well as cable television, DVD player, safety deposit box and IDD telephone system. They are linked by a charming corridor filled with a mosaic of vintage framed photographs illustrating the past century in Indonesia. Two of the bedrooms have a mezzanine able to accommodate an extra person.
The à la carte menu has a wonderful variety of fresh dishes, to the delight of all tastes, and is very reasonably priced considering guests are catered to by a personal chef and body of staff. Complimentary high tea may be set-up anywhere in the estate and is accompanied with Balinese delicacies allowing guests to try some of the local flavors.
Villa Kalyana is very spacious and can offer its guests an array of dining options around the property.
The indoor dining area seats ten guests at its beautiful long heavy wooden table, where wood is the theme, being directly under the main teak Joglo, which has an impressive overhanging chandelier, complete with antique wooden floors and comfortable wooden chairs with soft cushioned materials.
The kitchen has all that a master chef could ever dream off, including a body of staff to cook and clean up. It is spacious enough to dine in or hang out at, around the central French country style table. All mod cons can be found in Kalyana’s kitchen from appliances to crockery and tableware.
A vast, open, living area with a plunging view onto the stunning panorama of landscaped gardens, out and over the private swimming pool, framed by flowing drapes of heady materials. This part of the Villa is perfect for unwinding at the end of the day or simply relaxing, with plump cushioned antique sofas, beautiful attention to detail with vases and flowers, as well as an incredibly interesting array of artifacts and antiques from across the archipelago.
It is an impressive 18 x 4.5 meters salt water pool, and has a number of comfortable sun-beds surrounding it from where to laze away the day.
Alongside the sizeable swimming pool is the antique pool pavilion, made entirely from Javanese teak wood, in the traditional design know as ‘gladak’.
The attentive staff of Villa Kalyana are at your every beck and call; whether it be to cater to a particular culinary request, which they will source from fresh local ingredients and cook for you, to pamper you around the swimming pool area or to serve up cocktails in the evening.

About Karl Müller
Growing up and travelling between Asia and Switzerland has given me a perspective to see life from it's best sides.
My life, dominated by people, art, business, adventures, travelling, culture and lifestyle, i tried to bring all those factors into my home.
Your home away will give you the all of that, wether you enjoy quiet time with your family at the pool, great dinners with friends or work in a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.
Karl Müller purchased this villa in 2006
Why Karl Müller chose Jimbaran
First of all, because I love to be surrounded by wood, walking all day barefooted on cozy soft wood and beautiful tiles.
Then this open space, being cast away but still very near by everything.
The architecture and decoration, it's very classic and lets me feel like caught in time, like on a movie set for a colonial movie, where Ghandi sits with hemingway on my table and shares stories.
What makes this villa unique
The many little secrets and details which can be discovered, even living their for a long time, as each day the light, the smell and atmosphere changes.
