This property is unique for a village house as it has it's own alfresco dining terrace and garden with views of the Luberon. Sleeping arrangements are, 1 double & 1 single bedroom & a double sofa bed located in a separate reading room, comfortably accommodating 4-5 adults,however, there is also an additional sofa bed in the lounge for extra guests and the house can sleep up to 7 max with two (2) bathrooms, separate mezzanine / TV area from the open plan dining / lounge.

Saignon is a charming, unspoilt medieval village in the Lubéron Valley, a region in Provence, France, of outstanding natural beauty, and sits amongst acres of Lavender fields and fruit groves. It is also much famed for its excellent gastronomy, with several restaurants operating in the centre of the village generally in summer time. Situated on the edge of the village, Solièra has unmatched views down the Grand Lubéron Valley, while the charm of village life is less than a minutes stroll away.

Although there are a number of shops in Saignon including an excellent bakery which also sells some provisions, post office, three gift and handicraft shops, two cafés and eight restaurants, the lively market town of Apt with all amenities is just 4 kilometres down the valley which is easily accessible by Car, bus or foot.

Saignon and Apt are centrally located in the Luberon and many ancient villages and tourist destinations are very close and easily accessible and Marseilles and the Mediterranean are only about an hours drive away.

Dear Janelle

Thank you so much for making the lovely Soliera available to us. We've had the most marvellous time. Of course two weeks was never going to be enough! We discovered new sites and revisited a few old favourites. Joanna's welcome was wonderful - she even walked us around the village, after 'showing us the ropes' in the house and she left us some yummy provisions to indulge in. I'm sending this email from Tourettes sur Loup, our abode for the next week. It's a small villa with a spectacular view, but I'm afraid it pales by comparison with Soliera as it lacks many of the creature comforts and the delightful decor. We were confirmed Francophiles before spending the last fortnight in the Luberon but now we are seriously considering returning for more than a year.

  • Both bathrooms were recently renovated - Bathroom 2 on the lower level is attached to the main bedroom and acts like an ensuite when required, but it can be accessed separately without accessing the bedroom. It has been tastefully decorated and has a old style claw foot bath. Bathroom 1 - The larger bathroom on the upper floor has a good sized walk-in shower and is very light and airy. All bathrooms are newly renovated and are serviced by separate hot water systems. All our bathrooms are supplied with luxury towels.

  • The main bedroom has queen size bed and direct access tot he alfresco area. Another smaller bedroom has single bed in it. The house also has two double size fold our sofas, one in the sun room/reading room and another in the lounge room, allowing the house to sleep up to 7 people, but we recommend it best for 4 people for a comfortable stay.
