Columbus Cove
This property reminds us in many ways of our own seaside house in Norfolk, England. It is a terrace house, with the main bedroom and the living room both facing north and overlooking the sea. We find that truly inspirational, and it means that in summer you have sunrise and sunset over the ocean.
We were privileged to be the first ever to stay in this property. The owner lives in California, and so his father, who lives in Nassau, welcomed us and provided the keys. Actually he did much more, and helped us will all sorts of personal kindnesses. As you would expect with any new property, there were various snags, and the owners father was kindness itself in getting as many of these as possible fixed.
The property is not cheap to rent, and visitors should be aware that it is on the main flight path to and from the airport. Columbus Cove is currently a building site, and it is to be hoped that when the development is finished it will provide a tranquil setting with good access to the beach, which is rocky immediately in front of the property but sandy close by. We enjoyed walking east along the beach to the nearby Compass Point resort.
