'BAY IS YOUR BACKYARD' WATERFRONT VACATION RENTAL MATLACHA BAY

Pine Island House Rental Photos and Description

Vacation Rental, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Affectionately known as the 'Rhinestone Fisherman' this fantasy Pirate/Ocean themed waterfront vacation rental will make for a vacation you will cherish for a lifetime. Matlacha (MAT-la-shay) is just 30 minutes from Ft. Myers, but this secluded fishing village is a world apart! Fishermen, artists, bikers, vacationers all rub elbows and share the love of its unpretentious atmosphere. Unlike some topnotch fishing destinations, the intriguing thing about Matlacha is its plethora of attractions for non anglers: galleries, shops, restaurants, landmarks, and visual curiosities. Golfers will appreciate golfing at the Royal Tee Golf championship Golf club located less than 5 minutes away. Fisherman can relax on their excursions in the knowledge that family members ashore will not be bored or grouchy because of nothing to do!

The Rhinestone Fisherman is a fisherman's and an artist's dream. Actually partway perched on a long fishing dock, this elegantly furnished vacation rental has an 80 foot fishing dock and a 7,000 lb capacity boat lift just waiting to be used by you. The lighting and murals in this home are incredible. Bose surround sound system, two wide screen televisions, and WIFI will all add to your enjoyment.

As you gaze over the bay, enjoy your time in the gourmet kitchen – exotic granite, stainless steel, appliances, elegant cabinetry, all add to give you that feeling of a home away from home. With the hand laid rhinestone walls, hand painted murals, jeweled furniture the dining room is one of a kind. Watch the dolphins from your king size bed in the master suite. Murals with fiber optic lights, big screen TV, and a computer and reading area add to the 'WOW' effect of this suite.

Soak in the jacuzzi tub filled by a large gold waterfall shower head surrounded by glass mosaic tiles and actual glow in the dark grout! The queen bedroom lavishes you with that 'ole Florida charm. The kids will squeal with delight upon seeing the exquisite murals depicting the history of Matlacha.

Come on down and give us a call for a vacation I guarantee you will never forget!

Driving to Ft. Myers one day on business, I decided to take a trip through Matlacha. I was immediately struck by the old town atmosphere, the beauty, and overall feel of this village. If you close your eyes and open them you'd swear you were somewhere in Key West. The natural beauty of the areas only accessible by boat was another attraction for me.

This vacation rental practically built on top of your own dock. Sitting on dock of the bay song will readily come to mind each morning seeing the sunrise. Very nice!

My family has gone to the Keys and Chokoloskee over the years. We were looking for a new destination for a change. Matlacha brought back memories of old Florida charm. From the moment you walk in the front door you are wowed by the decor, the relaxed atmosphere and you will find a greater surprise as you walk out to the back. I did not expect a screened porch and having the dock right there made the fishermen in the family very happy! The hammock chair was my favorite place to hang, no pun intended. The owners were very accommodating. My kids enjoyed using the kayaks. The place was immaculate and well equipped. Bert's Bar, The Perfect Cup, Great Lick's and Pizza Bella were all great places on Matlacha. Matalacha and the Rhinestone Fisherman is definitely a true getaway!

This place is amazing! My sister and I stayed here as half of our 8th Annual Sister's Adventure and wish it had been our entire trip. This place is so charming, so relaxing, so beautiful and did I mention huge! When we arrived we were greeted by Mark who helped us with our belongings and getting our kayak off the car and onto the dock. He was very accommodating and gave us info on where to go fishing, kayak, where to eat and anything else we asked him. We fell in love with him! We also took out his skiff two days in a row and had a blast! We were so lucky to have had him working on the unit next door during our stay.

We loved the ambience of this place. The kitchen is state of the art with everything you could possibly image. We made good use of the Margaritaville blender for frozen drinks on the dock after a long day of boating and kayaking. The bedrooms are so unique. I got to stay in the Mermaid room at the rear of the cottage and it was like sleeping in a ride at Disney World! Not to mention that every morning I woke to a beautiful view of the water. The pictures do not do this place justice. It exudes the spirit of old Florida in a fun and inspiring way, with pieces of history throughout. We had breakfast on the porch every morning overlooking the water where we planned our day.

The renter upstairs was sweet and charming. We never heard him unless he greeted us when we went out front. No noise from Bert's and no problem with our private parking spot. We LOVED this place! Nothing but positives from the time we booked with Shelly to the time we tearfully left our little piece of paradise and our new best friend, Mark. We loved this place so much we purchased a "pirate chest" Christmas ornament to remind us of the wonderful time we had here.

This is why we love Canadian winters.....the Rhinestone Fisherman has it all !

This is the second time we have stayed at the Rhinestone Fisherman for periods of a month or more. My wife and I are both retired and enjoy kayaking, fishing and relaxing on the shores of Matlacha Pass. It is truly an amazing community with some rather unique shops and a variety of good local restaurants and pubs. We have found the owners to be very accommodating and have met some truly unique people during our stays and consider some of them to be very close friends.
This 3 bedroom home is modern and uniquely decorated as has been mentioned in prior reviews. This year we were surprised to find a couple bicycles to go with the kayaks that were here last year. The house is well maintained and clean whenever we arrive for our winter stay. Any concerns or questions we have had were immediately addressed.
When you get up in the morning you get to experience the sunrise over Matlacha Pass. The brown pelicans and laughing gulls are waiting to see if you have any fish to feed them. Occasionally a manatee or dolphin swims by right in front of the dock. When you go out on the dock mullet, rays, large jacks and a few friendly snook are there to greet you. One day my wife and I watched several large jacks schooling groups of mullet together just before they went on the attack. Many times we have awoken in the morning to the loud splashing of the jack's feeding frenzy just off our deck.
As far as local eating establishments go we can recommend Sandy Hook at the far west end of Matlacha. Their prime rib is to die for! Early morning coffee and breakfast at The Perfect Cup seems to be the Matlacha thing to do. Personally my wife and I rarely ate out as seafood was very easy to come by here. We caught an abundance of seatrout, snook when they were in season, and the odd redfish. Shrimp, stone crab, blue crab and oysters are also easy to buy from local fish markets.
The Rhinestone Fisherman is an ideal spot for kayaking since it has one of the few sandy launching areas that you will find in the area. Most people have to go to the Matlacha Community Park to launch their kayak. For those people who would like a beach adventure, we can recommend catching the Tropic Star ferry on Pine Island and take the day trip to Cayo Costa.
All in all this is an amazing place to experience the fishing, local wildlife and the beauty of Matlacha Pass.

I want to thank the owners for providing such amazing amenities at such an affordable price!!!!We stayed at the Rhinestone Fisherman last fall with a few other couples that we routinely vacation with and had one of our most memorable experiences ever! The accommodations were top of the line across the board and the customer service was awesome.
We all kayak or canoe, so the two kayaks provided were put to good use. Great dining nearby and the locals make you feel like a part of the community. We love it!
Our group makes it a point to never stay at the same place twice, but decided this was definitely the exception! We will be back every chance we get.

Friends and I reserved the Rhinestone Fisherman for 5 nights and we were blown away by the accommodations! I have been a property manager for 12 yrs on the gulf coast. Every place I stay I find myself looking for imperfections. aim happy to say I didn't find a single thing wrong here. The amenities were just as described and the place was incredibly clean. The decor in the bedroom was unbelievable, we noticed something new everyday. We would recommend Red's for dinner and The Perfect Cup for breakfast. We had a fishing guide pick us up and we were lucky enough to catch a lot of fish. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking for our catch. This place is perfect for a large family that likes the outdoors and want to try something new and exciting! We will be back!
