Situated off the charming pedestrian market street of Rue Daguerre, Rue Lalande is 5 mins walk from the Denfert Rochereau Metro & RER lines, providing easy access to transport within Paris and to CDG, Orly and Eurostar.
This bright and spacious 41m2 5th floor flat (with lift) is tastefully decorated in white and features oak & granite flooring.
It consist of double bedroom, bathroom with large walk in rain shower, separate kitchen (dishwasher/washing machine/hob/combination microwave oven) and lounge (dining table 4/6 people, leather armchair, double sofa bed).
WIFI and broadband internet is available.
Rue Daguerre has a village feel. Market-fresh seafood, meat, vegetables, fruit, cheese and bread are all on your doorstep.
Rue Daguerre is home to many independent boutiques - toys, books, comics, fashion, shoes, chocolate, ceramics, home-ware, linen, teas, antiques. Take your time to explore the hidden treasures and, like the Parisians, enjoy the people watching possibilties from the many pavement cafes.
In the heart of the city, Rue Daguerre is walking distance to Notre Dame, Pantheon, St Germain, Jardins du Luxembourg & Montparnasse. It benefits from excellent communications with the rest of the city thanks to the two metro lines, high speed RER underground and bus connections from Place Denfert Rochereau - Notre Dame/St Michel just 3 stops/6 mins! We recommend using the buses - slightly slower but you get to see the city and its people as you go by.
We live in Britanny and this apartment is our city home. We chose it because of the Rue Daguerre atmosphere, the convenience of having market fresh food shopping on the doorstep, the central Paris location and fantastic transport connections. Clean and cared for, our guests tell us that being a real 2nd home makes a difference.
I am a company director and live in Wokingham in the UK. My wife is French and we spend a lot of time in France - Paris, Brittany and Les Deux Alpes.
John Newman purchased this apartment in 2009
We lived by the sea in Brittany for 6 years and wanted a holiday home in Paris. We fell in love with the village atmosphere around the market street Rue Daguerre. The market fresh produce on our doorstep makes visiting Paris doubly enjoyable. It is extremely well situated for transport within Paris (Metro 4&6, RERB) and direct connections to CDG, Orly and Eurostar.
The flat is bathed in light and enjoys stunning rooftop views towards the Montparnasse Tower (and the Eiffel Tower beacon at night). Rue Daguerre has a village feel with market-fresh seafood, meat, vegetables, fruit, cheese and bread on your doorstep. The place makes you feel like a real Parisian.
This is long overdue.
I want you to know that we thoroughly enjoyed your lovely apartment that we used during the week between Christmas and the New Year.
All of our expectations were met. The apartment was lovely and comfortable and the location was the best. Being so near the metro was an added plus and we used it always.
We enjoyed shopping on Rue Duguerre, thank you so very much for accommodating us. It was just great.
We wanted a convenient place for a month in Paris. This apartment was perfect. Around the corner from a small shopping and dining area, with a cleaner, drugstore and Post Office in the immediate neighborhood, it is simply a great location. The metro and train station are also close by.
For my wife and me the size was perfect. The kitchen was great as we often cooked in.
I had to contact the owner for a couple of questions. He always responded immediately with the necessary information and suggestions.
The apartment was clean, warm and very secure. The amenities were exactly as stated. The Rue Daguerre provided us with a wonderful variety of delicious food and restaurants and shops. The location is SUPERB and we took the RER directly from CDG to the metro at Denfert/Rochereau. That alone is most valuable. Also that metro provided us with lines to visit all of the wonderful city of Paris. I recommend this apartment as a great place to stay.
The apartment was a perfect setting for us to really enjoy our visit to Paris. The location is just three blocks from the metro station making it easy to get to sites all over the city. And it was just a block off a lively neighborhood "market street" making it handy for our food shopping. The street included shops with everything we needed from fresh pastries to start the day to wine and cheese at the end of a day of siteseeing. We picked up freshly made paella and roasted chicken there for dinner two evenings. And enjoyed restaurants in the area other evenings. It was a treat to experience the neighborhood.
The apartment space worked well for the four of us (adults). It was clean, bright and well maintained. John was so organized and sent helpful info about the area prior to our arrival. He checked in with us the night of our arrival to make sure we had what we needed and to see if we had any questions. Our stay was a totally positive experience. We would go back as well as recommend the property to our friends.
This apartment is wonderful! My husband and I spent a wonderful week there and will stay again when we have the opportunity to return. Sadly neither of us speaks French, but with a little effort to speak French and inquire if anyone spoke a little English, everyone in the neighborhood, (shopkeepers, cashiers and waitstaff at restaurants) was friendly and helpful. We encountered no problems at all. Waitstaff went out of their way to interpret menus. Advantages to this apartment are the close proximity of restaurants, shops and most importantly the metro/train station. Everything is within a 5-8 minute walk. The most lovely thing about the apartment is that it is located near the authentic French market on Rue Daguerre rather than in a "touristy" section where everyone seems to be just "visiting" Paris rather than living there. The stands displaying seafood, baked goods, produce, meat, chicken, cheese, florist, and wine shops are just incredible. It is an easy walk to the apartment from the train station and the directions John provides are easy and direct. The apartment is on a residential street with a few small restaurants on the other side of the street. The apartment is exactly as depicted in the photographs. The apartment is clean, bright with large windows and has a great shower. The kitchen is well equipped and although I thought we might enjoy a dinner or two at the apartment, the nearby restaurants were just too delicious, and the waitstaff too friendly not to eat out every evening. We did enjoy coffee and breakfast in the mornings. It was so easy to get fresh croissants and breakfast pastry at the bakery around the corner, and go back to the apartment to eat. One morning the smell of delicious baking bread from the bakery around the corner awakened me- what a delightful fragrance to awaken by! If you'd rather shop at a larger grocery store one is located on the corner which you pass walking to and from the metro station. The convenience of this location cannot be emphasized enough. We felt safe walking from the metro/ train station late at night and early in the morning when we departed. At night, you can view Montparnasse Tower while it is lit up. We departed very early in the morning and it was a bonus to be able to take the train straight to CDG Airport. The early October weather was beautiful so we slept with the windows wide open- the entire stay was inspirational and the apartment and it's location exceeded every expectation.
The apartment is a good size, very clean and quiet, and there is plenty of of utensils, crockery, cutlery, chairs etc. The bedroom has plenty of room and a comfortable double bed and there is also a comfortable double sofa bed in the lounge room. The bathroom and kitchen are both very nice. The windows have shutters that can be closed at night to keep the rooms dark. There is a lovely view of the street from the 5th floor of the apartment and the lift was very handy when we returned home after a day's sightseeing. There is a very helpful lady on the ground floor who answers any and all questions with a smile. The location was perfect for us as it was just a few minutes from the Denfert Rochefereau RER, which connects to both Orly and CDG airports, and the Metro lines 4 and 6. It is also only 10 minutes walk to the Gare Montparnasse from which trains go to many parts of France, such as Toulouse. The Rue Daguerre, which is just around the corner from the apartment, is an absolute delight with every kind of fresh quality food that you could possibly want. We bought our croissants, baguettes, salmon, cheeses, raspberries and other beautiful fruit, there not to mention the wonderful french cakes that are a work of art and almost too good to eat. One Sunday afternoon there was a jazz band on the corner of the this street and our street and we could drink a glass wine, eat some nice cheese, have the windows open, and listen from the comfort of the apartment.
The owner, John, was extremely helpful and very prompt with all queries. I would definitely stay there again next time we are in Paris and would highly recommend the apartment to all types of travelers. It sleeps 3 comfortably.

). It is extremely well located for public transport and is walking distance for the Rive Gauche attractions (Jardin du Luxembourg, Montparnasse, Notre Dame, Sorbonne, Pantheon, Latin Quarter, Eiffel Tower, St Germain).
Rue Daguerre is a food lover's paradise and is like a village in the city. Market-fresh seafood, meat, vegetables, fruit, cheese and bread are all on your doorstep.
If you fancy something prepared there are a wide choice of French, Italian, Greek, Moroccan, Chinese, Japanese traiteurs and delicatessens. And of course, more restaurants than you will have evenings ...
