PRIVATE HOME ON FORMER SUMMER CAMP W/TROUT POND, FIELDS & MORE

Lake Toxaway Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

This luxurious mountain cabin is nestled in a hardwood cove surrounded by a babbling brook, blooming rhododendron, and landscaped with native plants. The cabin is tastefully furnished with mission-style antiques, has a wood-burning, field stone fireplace, and all of the amenities of a home away from home. A wrap around porch with outdoor living room surrounds the cabin---perfect for outdoor relaxation by candlelight while listening to the beautiful sounds of nature and a babbling brook. A Weber grill and stereo speakers make the porch perfect for outdoor lounging and entertaining. Inside is a large great room with a cathedral ceiling with hardwood paneling, dining table for 6, fully equipped modern kitchen, 2 sofa beds, WiFi, and satellite TV with DVD and VCR.

Originally a summer camp over fifty years ago, the property on which the home sits now is a private, family estate comprised of 66 mountainous acres with two ponds that are fed by 3 streams that originate on the property. There are two small fields at the top of the mountain that are perfect for playing games with the family and throwing balls to the dogs, etc. Gravel roads and trails weave throughout the property for leisurely strolls, short hikes, and outright bush-whacking for the brave hearted! A great place to roam through the woods, play in the streams, and have some fun adventures with kids! Structural relics of the old summer camp still exist----old stone foundations from the cabins, a stone amphitheater in a mountain cove, outdoor fireplaces, etc. make for interesting exploration as you walk the property. The largest pond is over an acre and is stocked with Rainbow Trout. An outbuilding that serves as a workshop/garage/party space with a large front porch deck overlooks the pond with a grill and patio furniture making the perfect space for relaxing while fishing for your evening meal.

This is more than a rental home --- it's an adventure!

Very simply WOW! We loved our stay. David was so helpful and attentive to details. We planned this trip as a birthday gift for my Mother-In-Law. We arrived to find a birthday cake, wine and card for her. She loved it. The cabin was clean, confortable and quite. Just what we needed! Fishing was fantastic and a lot of fun for all of us. The area is great for hiking and veiwing of waterfalls. This is on are list of great vacation destinations.

found this place to take my son and some of his college friends for his birthday. They loved the fishing and open fields. Plenty of room and everything we needed for a great home away from home. Owner had a birthday cake there upon our arrival wishing him a Happy Birthday. Beautiful place and will definitely be looking for a time to go back for another visit.

Solitude and Convenience!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin, so much! We loved feeling like we were alone and yet we were not far from shopping, grocery store or dining. We brought our 3 year old grandson with us and it was paradise for him. He loved exploring the grounds and the cabin. We were hoping for snow and got it. It was so quiet you could literally hear the snow outside. David, the owner, is so great to work with and has provided everything you could possibly need for your stay! A great place to stay!

Great weekend in the mountains

Wife and 2 dogs found this cabin at the last second and decided to head up to the mountains for the weekend. We had an amazing weekend and will definitely be back. Cabin was fantastic and has all the personal touches you don't usually see in a rental. The towels and linens are very nice and the master bed was super comfortable (only two of us so can't comment on the other beds). Cabin was very clean and we enjoyed sitting by the fire and relaxing. The cabin came stocked with wood and everything was very turn key. The grounds where the cabin is located are very well taken care of and we enjoyed walking around the property and checking everything out. If you have kids (we don't), there are two huge fields where kids can play (or dogs) and have a blast.

This cabin is a short drive (15 minutes) to downtown Brevard and highly recommend checking out this area. The malt milkshakes from the General Store were amazing. We spent a day hiking the trials and visited several waterfalls and had a blast - this is a must do if you are in the area. I have lived in the Carolinas my whole life and I had no idea that we had such amazing waterfalls and trails in North Carolina.

David was a pleasure to deal with and thanks for allowing us (and others) to stay in your amazing cabin. It is a special place and we will be back!

Excellent Accommodations!

First of all, David was so easy to work with, he sets a high bar! The wine, candy and coffee were a real treat upon our arrival after a long 10 hour drive. The beds and linens were the best as were the appliances. My wife is pretty picky about things and she was impressed. Great water pressure and clear water to boot. The grounds are quite lovely even in the middle of winter. My only regret is that I didn't get to fish, but there's always next time. So sorry we couldn't stay longer in this peaceful paradise. David even had a bed for the pooch, how thoughtful. We have been to WNC for many years now and this place is one of the best, take it from a VRBO veteran. Brevard is such a gem and we had a romantic lunch and dinner at the Hobnob and Marco Trattoria respectively. Don't miss lunch at the Twin Dragons Grand Buffet, one of our regular stops.
