This is simply one of the most beautiful and centrally located areas in Paris. The neighborhood is full of antiques shops and restaurants as well as famous wine, cheese, chocolate and pastry shops. It is a ten minute walk to The Louvre Museum – in fact it is visible when you exit the building – while the Métro is just a five minute walk toward the beautiful Bd. Saint Germain. I myself have always lived in this part of Paris and adore all the magnificent buildings, typical cafés and restaurants. I like to cross the river and go jogging in the Tuileries Garden or enjoy an exhibition at one of the many nearby museums followed by tea and a macaron at the world-famous Ladurée. The unique Parisian atmosphere is unmistakable in this wonderful neighborhood.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in this lovely apartment. I was drawn to it because of the outstanding reviews I read below. Be sure to read them all as they provide great insight. First and foremost, the apartment was very clean, well equipped and the furniture was comfortable. The bed was comfortable, (firm) and the pillows were very comfortable as well. The towels were also in very good condition. The location of the apartment is very quiet as it's set back from the busy street. I discovered that is very well insulated because it's a 17th century building with extremely thick walls. So while I thought we would need to turn heat on at night, we never did. Instead we opened the long windows and allowed the fresh air to blow in. It is also secure, as you'll go through two gates, one secured by a pass-code and the other by a key, so you won't need to worry about your belongings. You even need a pass-code for the elevator, which really comes in handy with the luggage and after a long day of walking throughout the city! As all the other reviewers said, the location is unbeatable! I especially enjoyed crossing over the Seine and jogging at the Tuileries garden in the mornings. We loved that it was a short walk to the Blvd. St Germain, many attractions, the bus and metro stops. The highlight for my husband was living like a true Parisian. We stocked up on a few groceries for breakfast and lunch, a huge cost savings! Each morning we went to the bakery on the corner and picked up some fresh croissants and baguettes. My husband's parents were staying in a hotel a few blocks away and one morning we even had them over for breakfast. Lastly, Veronique was a pleasure to work with. She is very nice and accommodating. We'd love to come back and stay here. Thanks Veronique!!!
We so enjoyed staying in this perfectly located apartment. Veronique provided excellent communication prior to our arrival which made me feel secure in my booking. She also provided information about walking tours and other points of interest once we arrived. The flat is clean, attractively decorated and stocked with all the equipment needed for a home-away-from-home experience in Paris. Within a short walk is everything: the market, the metro, the river, the Louvre, Notre Dame, Musee de Orsay...and of course the shops and cafes of the gorgeous Saint Germain de Pres neighbourhood. A little longer walk takes you to the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Les Invalides and the Champs-Élysées, The next time we visit Paris we will definitely want to stay at Rue du Bac!
When in Paris, we love staying on the Left Bank and this apartment is in THE perfect spot. Two blocks from the Musee D'Orsay (and the Orsay RER station for easy access to Versailles), a block and a half from the Seine and the Pont Royal which leads you directly to the Tuileries gardens (a great spot for a morning run), half block from the local boulangerie, and a few short blocks to Blvd St Germain.
The apartment is a great size for a couple, with a powder room + bathroom, kitchen, living space and a large bedroom. The large living room windows provided both tons of daylight and a nice breeze to keep the apartment cool.
Veronique was wonderful to deal with, and gave us the insider's tour of the 6th & 7th arr. It was was very interesting to see the area from a life time local's eyes!
We will definitely be back to 12 rue du Bac for our next stay in Paris!
We had such a GREAT stay in this apartment. Love the decorating! Very chic and very comfortable. The bed and the couch bed are both very comfortable and we slept great! It was SO QUIET and calm which can be hard to find in this area. It's very centrally located which is great for going to the Musee d'Orsay, Louvre, St Germain des Pres and just about everywhere. The apartment was clean and had all amenities including Wifi, Cable TV, elevator, etc. The owner is a great resource for finding anything in Paris and can recommend many places to go and restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here!! It's so lovely to walk right out the door and have Eric Kaiser for breakfast and a nice cafe across the street. It's PERFECT to stay in this apartment and I'd love to go back!!
Everything about this apartment was wonderful. My husband and i were celebrating our 25th anniversary ,and we could not have asked for a better place. We were close to EVERYTHING . The metro, great cafes and restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries, wine and cheese shops, and all of the historical part of Paris. Walking distance to the Louvre and the river. So romantic. The best thing i liked however was the owner . Veronique was so helpful. She answered all our questions, Went out of her way to help us arrange our schedule. Allowed a friend to stay one night ,and also gave us a beautiful gift of hand embroidered pillowcases for our anniversary. We were so touched by her care and hospitality . The bed was very comfortable, the shower very clean and spacious , the kitchen very adequate, and the location perfect. I would highly recommend this apartment.
Nicely appointed quiet 1 bedroom apartment in the heart of the Left Bank. Blocks from the Musee D'Orsay and across the river from the Louvre. Close to great shops and restos in the St. Germain des Pres neighborhood - just down the street from L'atelier de Joel Robuchon. Veronique is quite attentive and addressed our questions quickly. She actually gave us a tour of the neighborhood from a local's perspective which was wonderful. I definitely recommend this apartment - and the tour.
