|Minimum Stay||5 nights|
This private oceanfront villa is set in a lush tropical garden with the turquoise Caribbean Sea and Klein Bonaire (the largest uninhabited island in the Caribbean!) in the background. Lounge by the private pool under the banana trees or swing in the hammock under the coconut palms while listening to the waves on the beach and the parrots flying over.
We provide you with a two person kayak and mountain bikes if you like to explore the island. Some of the best diving and snorkelling of the island is right out the back door. When you come back to the house you can enjoy the outside shower while enjoying the view of the Caribbean Sea.
The master bedroom has a view of the lush tropical garden and turquoise Caribbean Sea from the king size bed. There is also a dvd player, dvd library, large flat screen tv, and air conditioning. The master bathroom has both a shower and tub. The two additional bedrooms have twin beds which can be connected to make kings. Both these bedrooms also have air conditioning and one extra bathroom.
Once you have stayed here you will agree that this is Paradise Found!!

The other reviews of this property are not inflated. We spent two wonderful weeks at this house and would gladly make it our permanent home, as-is. The owner is great. He gave us a thorough orientation on the property. My wife and I immediately had smiles on our faces. You enter the house through a nice front gate leading through a jungle garden and to the front door. The décor is what you would want a beach house to be. The kitchen is better equipped with appliances and utensils than any we have rented before. Although the appliances have euro symbols on them, the owner gives you a quick lesson, and you can easily figure out the rest. There is even a fully stocked medical draw in the kitchen. The linens are quality stuff. The internet and cable are very reliable, and most issues are user-created. A lot of our time, when not diving or exploring, was spent by the pool. The pool area is immaculate, including the water, and very private. There are even several friendly lizards and iguanas that will gladly take any handouts you off. The sunsets are spectacular. Be sure to ask the owner about the fresh fish "market". He was nice enough to hand deliver a slab of tuna that was in the ocean swimming an hour before we got it. The grill is great for cooking the local fresh fish. We could go on and on. If you are considering this property against others, pick this one. We doubt there is another on the island that beats it for location and value. We are already looking forward to our next visit to our new second home.
Ahhh, Bonaire and the oceanfront villa, a perfect combination for a perfect vacation. Our first trip to Bonaire; we usually do just one warm weather beach vacation every year or so, mixed with US/Canada mountain and cold sea trips and a few (very lucky for us) European vacations. We did get addicted to St John USVI and Kauai and had several trips to each and have also visited Costa Rica, Fiji, the Caymans, the other Hawaiian islands and New Zealand. All are wonderful and I would return anytime, but have to admit Bonaire has moved to the top of our warm weather beach spots. Easy travel, laid back environment, the weather, non-fussy but tasty and relatively non-expensive food all make for our type of vacation. Not to mention the snorkeling, WOW, for landlocked dwellers like us it was a water wonderland, fishes and coral galore. But enough of that, this is a review of the villa, suffice it to say if you want a laid back, remote feeling, Gilligan’s island type fantasy vacation, check out Bonaire.
Now back to the Villa (and I wish I was back to the Villa now), that was the icing on our fantasy vacation cake. So comfortable and clean, the house is even nicer than the pictures show. But being right by the ocean with steps down to amazing snorkeling outside your door all will blow the top off of the vacation experience scale. I read all the reviews of the villa before booking and to be honest, knew it would be OK, but was skeptical that it would be THAT good, but believe me it is that good. Location seems perfect to me, close to restaurants and grocery but not in the middle of things (although when we were there, there were not any real crowds anywhere…bliss!). I had a few concerns at first since I noted the house was in a development with houses right next to each other—so for others who might be concerned about privacy, want to let you know once you get in the house, all is private, the screening and landscaping between houses is very good. I never worried about “flashing” anyone when I came back and rinsed off in the shower outside after snorkeling below. And as every reviewer has noted, the snorkeling (we are not divers) right off the house is wonderful. First vacation I have ever been able to snorkel every day with so little effort.
We did go to Klein Bonaire on the Sea Cow (see my review on Tripadvisor, it is another wonderful value) and did the mangrove snorkel tour (also highly recommended).
First, on arriving we see beautiful gardens in the front and side yards, and after entering the house, more beautiful gardens in the back yard as well. The kitchen is euipped with top of the line cookware, utensils and small appliances. The pool is immaculate, and the porch area around it has a big round table with comfy chairs and a day bed under roof for reading or relaxing. The back yard has a gate leading down to the beach. We snorkeled there at least once a day. We also went to several dive sites on the island, including a boat trip to Klein Bonaire, and the best snorkeling we found was at the beach down the steps. There is a tandem open-top kayak, a hammock, numerous chaise lounges outside, and a couple of bikes. There is a box of snorkeling equipment in the garage, so you don't even have to bring a mask and fins, they are there in several sizes. We cooked a lot in the delightful kitchen, but also ate out. Recommend Sebastians. Call ahead and the get the one table set on a covered dock. Lovely. The best place to eat was At Sea. Get the Chef's Surprise dinner, a 4-course menu designed by the chef with accompanying wine for each course. It was very well done!
The owner met us at the airport, drove us to the house (we followed him in our rental car). On the way he pointed out groceries and other items of interest. He lives nearby and is a phone call away if anything comes up that requires his assistance. He is very helpful and answers all your questions.
There are other places on the island that are similar, but the way this one is landscaped, equipped and maintained make it a stand-out.
We were a group of adults made up of pool potatoes, scuba diver and snorkelers; this home made us all happy. After returning north to a snow storm, the memory of Bonaire was delightful. The home is as pictured with roomy bedrooms, great kitchen, comfortable outdoor furniture, soothing pool...all that is needed to make a stay here a treat...but what is BEST is Mother Nature's gift: the sea.
The reef in front of the home is FAB!!! We swam "our" reef (Andrea I and II) every day plus visiting a selection of other sites -- always coming back home thinking ours was the best. With coral and fish surrounding you as soon as you enter the water, snorkeling is easy; just get wet and float (wearing beach booties with a sole makes entry much easier). Walking down to the water directly from the house made it possible to do short snorkels morning, noon, and evening (seeing different reef dwellers at different times)...anytime the mood struck.
We drove to the south end of the island and watched the kite surfers. WOW! what speed and agility. After watching for over an hours it was still a mystery what the rules of the water were because nobody crashed or got kite wires tangled as they zipped up and down the shore while doing flips and jumps at top speed. We were told one woman we were watching was world class and practiced at this beach between competitions.
We ate half our meals at the house. Meals were eaten on the veranda with easy service from the kitchen just a few steps away. Jerome, the owner, took us to the supermarket on the way from the airport to buy a few items for our first breakfast and lunch (so helpful). Such fun buying items when you can't read the labels. I recommend buying cheese; it is wonderful. Another bit of good news: the prices in stores and restaurants were reasonable. We ate brunch at 'Bun 2 Bun' a number of mornings; always superb.
Come to Bonaire, it is a great vacation spot and I hope you can make the experience even better by renting this home. Jerome makes you feel welcomed and the house makes vacation easy.
PS Jerome told us about the wild donkeys and free ranging goats. At first we wondered if he was teasing, but then we saw a few and once noticed they appears in all parts of the island. Another memory :-)
This was our forth trip to Bonaire and by far our favorite place that we've stayed. We stayed the whole month of February. It had the most beautiful views. We are early risers and would enjoy our coffee in the lounge chairs looking out at the pristine waters. What we were not expecting was all the wild life. Humming birds just 3 feet away getting nectar from the gorgeous purple flowers, butterflies, parrots, an osprey diving for fish, and troupial's which sang beautifully. We are snorkelers and have been to most of the dive sites on Bonaire. This trip we never ventured off to other dive sites because this was the perfect spot. Jerome met us at the airport and we followed him to the house which was great. He is super friendly, helpful and informative and even gave us some great restaurant recommendations. It was nice having the owner close by to answer any questions. We enjoyed the house and especially the master bedroom which looked out on the water, great tv, comfortable bed. The kitchen had everything we needed. The outdoor gas grill, washing machine, and dishwasher were a big plus. Great sunsets and even a few rainbows. We will miss this place and will definitely be back.
Stop looking at other rentals - pick this one! You will not be disappointed. The other reviews are spot-on. This a quality rental with a fun comfortable vibe. It has everything you need and some things you didn’t even know you needed. Soup to nuts, its perfect. Get it before someone else does. You’re welcome.
