1 Bedroom, 1 and a half bath, sleeps 4-5 two stories.

Be close to everything that is happening in Austin.It's hard to get a cooler place with a better location. Full of color and original art (photos by owner and art by the resident artist next door), it is a COMFORTABLE happy place with great energy. The bedroom has a King size bed with the famous Westin Hotel mattress. The couch in the living room is a Queen sleeper with a memory foam. The down stairs bathroom comes with 'Pretty Boy' the tetra fish and his aquarium which happens to be part of the toilet tank. The kitchen is fully loaded with anything a cook or chef might need or want. This is a two story unit which is part of a fourplex. Zilker Park Place is located just two blocks from Zilker Park and Barton Springs Pool. It is close to SoCo and less than a $10 cab ride to downtown. The bus is about half a mile from the unit and an easy walk to restaurant row on Barton Springs Rd. The hiking trail around Lady Bird Lake is approx. a mile away but you can begin your walk at the trail one block away. Enjoy Zilker, Barton Springs, or the Greenbelt. (WiFi/digital cable). We love pets but this is a pet free space to respect all of our guests potential allergy issues.

Barton Creek Greenbelt: One of Austin's premier mountain biking, hiking, trail running and rock climbing destinations. This 8 mile long, 809 acre greenbelt begins less than 1/4 a mile away from our front door. Beautiful and fun in any season. During wet weather the creek is a kayak, tubing and swimming destination with numerous small waterfalls and fun rapids.

Austin's Hike and Bike Trail: Easy access to downtown is car-free on this waterfront trail, 1/2 block from our front door. Popular with bikers, walkers and joggers, trees and wildflowers provide shade and beauty along this 10.3 mile trail which loops around the lake. Several pedestrian bridges cross into downtown with access points to live music venues, restaurants, shopping, museums, concert halls, the opera house and beyond. Don't miss the Congress Avenue Bridge, home to the largest Urban Bat Colony in the world!

Other Activities: Rowing, Frisbee golf, BMX biking, rock climbing, kayak and canoe. Don't forget Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World. Sixth street and the Warehouse District is a 10 minute drive from Zilker Park Place.

About Lois

This is me in my art car. I have been a professional intuitive since 1993 and have teaching intuition classes since 1995. Presently I hold dating workshops and relationship support groups throughout the year. I enjoy writing and am presently the relationship columnist for Austin Woman Magazine (which is a free publication available at Whole Foods, Central Market, and other locations throughout Austin). Somehow over the years I have become a relationship expert and have yet to find a question that I can’t answer. I enjoy local theatre and the film festivals and have found a great outlet for my reviews at the austinpost. I live in the neighborhood less than a mile from the rental. I am known for having one of the most colorful houses in this very eclectic neighborhood. The yard has been featured on the local yard art tour. The art car pictured above is my fourth. It is “Carsmos” which is decorated with a sea theme, the solar system, the city of Austin, and the different regions of earth on the hood. I am the female in the photo and my life partner is the male, who is also an artist. We have travelled a bit (mostly the U.S. and Europe) and the photos throughout the rental are ours. Color makes me feel alive and the color in the rental and in our photography is a reflection of that passion. My motto is “if there is still twenty minutes, there is time to see a museum”. Having studied art history and gone on four art history tours of Europe, I have been fortunate to have seen some of the very best European Masters and some of the greatest museums in the world. I couldn’t be happier.

Why Lois chose Austin

I purchased the Four-Plex because of the incredible location and the highly desirable neighborhood. Although it looks like it might be a busy street, it is quiet and peaceful. I enjoy the greenery and the old trees everywhere. It is hard to get much closer to the park or to the back entrance of our famous Barton Springs Pool. It is our natural treasure. The unit is in a residential neighborhood but only blocks away are some of the best Austin restaurants located on Barton Springs Rd. Everything is close. There is no need to start a hike on Lady Bird Lake’s Hike and Bike trail when just walking out the door will add less than a mile extra to the run…one way of course. I lived in one of the units in 1990. It was hard to leave but fortunately I didn’t have to go too far. The neighbors are great and if you say “hi” they will always great you with a big smile. Not only that but I’m sure they won’t mind helping with directions. After all, it is the Austin way.

What makes this townhome unique

I have lived in Austin for over 30 years. I have great tourist advice. If you want to know the coolest things to do during your stay just ask. She can tell you how to reach me. Honestly, it would be hard to be in a better location, in a more comfortable environment, surrounded by the best that Austin has to offer. Have a cup of coffee, sit back, read, watch TV, or do nothing. Better yet enjoy the best of everything that Austin has to offer. It is just around the corner. You can drive, take the bus, or bike anywhere. After all my travels I still believe Austin is the best city on the planet.

Beautiful apartment and so close to Zilker / Barton Springs. I went running on the trails every day. The 2-block proximity to nature and the lake really made this work trip feel almost like vacation. Also, the grill on the patio works just great! Thank you Lois!

Fabulous, Comfortable Home

We rented this one bedroom Town House during SXSW. Initially I was apprehensive because I did not know the area, and was not sure how I could get downtown every day. As it turned out it was the BEST location! No cab ride was more than $10, most less. There were three of us and the accommodations were perfect. It was our oasis after the craziness of SXSW. It was quite, comfortable and homy. Everything we needed was there for us; like living at home. I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to stay in Austin for any length of time.

Zilker Park Place was awesome

Everything was perfect. We really appreciated everything already being there for us. Lois was always quick to respond to any questions and there is a great binder full of ideas. The bed was very comfortable, the neighborhood quiet and a walk to zilker park was great for clearing the mind. The apartment definitely keeps Austin weird in all the right ways. Again thanks for everything and next time we come to Austin I know where we are staying, ZPP!

If you go to Lockhart, eat at Black's. If you drive to the Brewery in Shiner, go on a week day, as they are closed on the weekend. Our favorite music spot was The Saxon Pub. Torchy's Tacos, Maria's Taco x-press were both delicious. Also, highly recommend Micklethwait craft Meats.

exactly as advertised--a perfect choice for us

Thank you, Lois, for providing the perfect accommodations for our extended stay in Austin. The unit is exactly as advertised--easy to travel to, close to shopping and to the Lady Bird hike/bike trail in a quiet neighborhood. Lois stopped by to welcome us to Austin on our first day. She was able to answer any questions we had regarding the area and to recommend restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Her attention to every detail in the unit made our stay especially pleasant: from the well stocked kitchen to the soft bath towels and crisp white sheets to the washer and dryer, we were comfortable in every way. She even has a Pack N Play in the unit which came in handy when our family visited us for a few days. We enjoyed the easy access to major highways to get to TX state parks. We were in walking distance to a variety of casual restaurants. Our Austin vacation was a great getaway from the winter cold of the midwest. The warm welcome from Lois was just the start to our enjoyable month in Austin. I would recommend this unit to anyone who enjoys being close to art and music, a variety of restaurants and easy access to recreation in a quiet neighborhood. Exectaly as advertised--a perfect choice for us

Thank you, Lois, for providing the perfect unit for our extended stay in Austin. The condo was exactly as advertised. It is close to downtown Austin, two blocks from the Lady Bird hike/bike trail and close to grocery stores and shopping. The unit is immaculate. The bath towels are soft and the bedding is like new. Lois stopped by our first day to welcome us to Austin and answer any questions we had. Her personal touch has added to our vacation experience. The condo is completely furnished. It even has a Pack N Play that we used when our family visited us for a few days. The loation is convenient to major highways to easily get to the many TX State Parks we visited during our month in Austin. We could walk to a variety of restaurants--and especially liked the TexMex selection at Chuy's. I would recommend this unit to anyone who wants a sparkling clean unit, close to downtown and restuarants. Lois has, indeed, set a high bar for VRBO properties to match.

Amazing Get-Away

Couldn't ask for a better 3 day get-away. Lois was welcoming and pays keen attention to detail and any possible needs of tenants. As others have previous stated the location is prime... a quick walk to Barton Springs and short drive into downtown Austin. 

Zilker place has such a artistic charm that just welcomes you into the home like its your own. And for the cooks out there we had everything we needed for a great dinner! 

We will definitely be coming back and this will be our go to home when we visit Austin in the future.

This very large one bedroom vacation rental is located in the Zilker Park Area of Austin. It is in 78704 known for the Soco District, Barton Springs Pool, and an abundance of out door activities. The trail surrounding Lady Bird Lake is less than a mile from the rental and Barton Springs Pool couldn't be much closer. Downtown, 6th street, and the warehouse district are minutes away. We are close to almost anything and everything a tourist would want to do. Downtown is less than a $10.00 cab ride away. A bus stop and a convenience store are located around the corner.
