Contacted owner through this site and received a rapid response with more information and pictures. We mailed the deposit to secure the dates. Simple and pain-free. We received a pack with information regarding all aspects of your stay, including local eateries and recreational activities. The property is pet-friendly, our dogs LOVED the beach.
We took the toll road (2 checkpoints $2.20US each) down and made it from border to front door in ~40minutes. The guards at the gated entrance were very polite and checked our vehicles against the guestlist, then waved us through.
The home is beautiful and exceeded my expectations. It is a split level home with living and dining areas upstairs and the sleeping quarters downstairs.
Upstairs, there is a HUGE sectional and an HDTV with satellite. The kitchen is amply sized and all of the appliances worked well. The dinner table is large enough to seat 8 comfortably. There is a restroom upstairs. The balcony has a great view, a fresh breeze, and is a pleasant area to relax with your favorite adult beverage. Garage has room for one vehicle, but the second vehicle was safe outside. Garage also contains surfboards and body boards, as well as a paddleboard, kayak, and jetski (not for guest use). There is also a laundry room that leads downstairs to the outdoor shower.
Downstairs are the sleep quarters. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated with comfortable beds and seating areas. The bathrooms are beautifully tiled with abundant hot water with good water pressure. Toilets flush well despite a note indicating "sensitive plumbing". The two large bedrooms have doors that open onto the backyard porch and outdoor shower area. The third bedroom has 3 beds allowing multiple sleep options for adults and or kids sharing a room.
I recommend JEFEs open 24/7 with ATM for everyday minor grocery needs, its located near the Puerto Nuevo exit. For major grocery shopping, I recommend the huge COMERCIAL MEXICANA on your left hand side as you pass Rosarito. Its a BIG grocery store.
SAFETY: Never felt ill-at-ease. Security was excellent!
TIPS:
Bring at least 3 1lb propane bottles from USA (Walmart camping section has 2 for $6/ $15 EACH in Mex)
Buy Aloe for sunburn at Mexican pharmacy it has lidocaine
Plan on ~2 hours on return trip for border wait time: plenty of vendors, no bathrooms
Take the 5 gallon water bottles to JEFEs for bulk water needs, bring bottled water
Get on the surfboards!
out of room to type, great place!
