DESIGNER HOME FEATURES POND, WATERFALL AND MEDITATION GAZEBO

New Orleans House Rental Photos and Description

3 BR, 2 BA Home in a very convenient location

Our home is a craftsman bungalow located in Uptown on Apple Street, two blocks from the St. Charles Trolley. Right at the intersection of Apple, Fontainebleau and Carrollton Streets, our block has had many of the same residents for years. It is ideal for long-term rentals.

The large, private back yard has a pond and bridge a waterfall and a gazebo. While you are in the middle of the city, the pond and waterfall create a peaceful environment.

The pond, which is about 5,000 gallons, contains anywhere from twelve to thirty-six koi. The pond attracts herons and kingfishers which, to our chagrin, like to dine at our place.

There is extensive ground lighting. In a tribute to old New Orleans, there are eighteen flickering Bourbon Street gas lanterns lining the seven-foot high walls.

The entire house and yard are wired for sound, so bring your ipod or iphone. There are three televisions and a CD player.

In the yard there is a large gas grill, a refrigerator, a large table and chairs. The area is pet friendly with custom-built cedar fences enclosing the underside of the home. There is also a 48” double door, wire kennel for your dog.

The kitchen floor is made from bricks recaptured from old buildings and sliced into beautiful floor tiles. The dark cabinetry and granite countertops are striking.

Our home is stay-ready. The stocked kitchen has a large gas range, a convection oven and a microwave convection oven. With a breakfast bar and a kitchen table, the kitchen seats eight.

The property has rich wood floors throughout the rest of the home; in both living rooms and each of the three bedrooms.

The master bedroom has a beautiful sleigh bed (queen size). The master bath has a ceramic tile floor and a large sunken Jacuzzi tub. In addition, there is a salt water coral reef. It's our little coral marine colony.

The guest bathroom is decorated floor to ceiling in Italian tile. The shower has two digital thermostat control systems, two traditional shower heads, eight overhead shower heads and four body sprays.

The property also has a king size bed, two twin beds and a sleeper sofa. In addition, there is an inflatable mattress.

Hi, I'm Finley. I own the house with Jeff. I am a clothing designer, born on the Gulf Coast, west of New Orleans. While I live in Dallas, I have spent much of my life in and around the Crescent City, first with my family and now with my guy, Jeff.

Jeffrey purchased this house in 2011

We both agreed that we wanted to dig-in for the long term in New Orleans and be part of the regrowth of our marvelous city. Jeff actually bought the house without my knowledge. He has always said that the reason he bought it was so he could propose to me in the backyard. He did. (On his knees while we were on the bridge overlooking the pond.) Then, as you can see from our photos, we got married in the back yard. The house has a very strong sentimental attachment.

There is nothing like having coffee in the morning, out in the gazebo, with your closest friends or dearest family members. The gazebo is a place to talk. The waterfalls provide a soothing, peaceful environment for you to share secrets, make plans or conduct business.

GREAT STAY!!

  • 5 of 5
LOVED our stay. Andy was great, he took care of us and helped us out with our luggage due to flight scheduling problems. And gave us some great info about the city. You have definitely put your home in good hands with him. Thank you so much for letting us share your home. We really enjoyed the experience of "living" in New Orleans. It was hard to leave. : )

Owner's Response: Thanks very much. We have a team of my friends to make sure that you can live like a local. Which is how it should be. Kudos to Andy. Note: It is always hard for me to leave, too! Thanks again.

THE HOUSE WAS CLEAN AND NICE.

  • 5 of 5
We enjoyed our stay in New Orleans. The only thing we did not like was that we had to park on the street. We were suppose to have a parking spot but was not allowed to park there.

Owner's Response: Thank-you for your kind words about our home. And, thanks for the information about the gate. The gate is not wide enough for some vehicles. (Which I did not know.) I will make sure that our guests understand how large a vehicle they can fit through the gate.

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOME.

  • 5 of 5
This is a beautifully renovated and decorated shotgun double. It is very clean and well maintained. It felt even more spacious than we had imagined. Four of us shared this home for four nights and wished that we had stayed longer. All three bedrooms were great, king bed in the front of the house, twin beds in the middle, queen bed towards the back. The two bathrooms were spacious. There is only one shower, but believe me, that shower is heavenly! The other bathroom has a large tub in a large bathroom. The kitchen is huge and stocked with everything you could need. Robert fresh market is right around the corner, it was so convenient. My husband and I both said that we would rent this home again in a heartbeat. Jackie, the contact person was super nice. Thank you Jeff and Finley for sharing such a beautiful home in New Orleans.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind remarks. Unfortunately, as it is I cannot install a shower-bath with my jacuzzi. I thought this was an easy request to fulfill. But, because I have a sunken tub, a shower bath invites a lot of problems. That is, unless I completely tile the wall. I am still trying to figure this out. So far, no luck.

Beautiful property, beautiful redone. So close to St. Charles trolley. Would love if they included a shower in Master bedroom so don't have to share with the rest of the household but overall GREAT stay. Comfortable bed.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice remarks. Thanks for the idea about the shower in the master bath. We will do this right away by installing a hand shower in the jacuzzi tub.

BEAUTIFUL HOUSE IN THE PERFECT LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
The property was very clean and well kept, and the location was perfect. It was close to a drug store and a grocery store, so we could walk to both. It was also very close to a park with a play ground.
The beds were comfortable, and it was such a pleasure to hang out in the gazebo with the sounds of water trickling over the rocks.
Having a washer/dryer was really nice. The dryer made me jealous, as it really dried things quickly.
Our toddlers really enjoyed the bathtub and the coral reef. The adults loved having their own rooms and the ability to chat after the kids went to bed.
The entire place is wired for sound, so we had good music everywhere we went.
Excellent place to stay. I cherish the memories that we made there.
The owner is very nice and accommodating. I will be recommending the house to others.
