This immaculate 2 bedroom beach home is just a few minutes walk to Sanibel's shell-covered, sugar-sand beaches. It is located in the east end of the Island with easy access to the causeway and Fort Myers and across the street from the public Sanibel Golf Club on Sanibel. A large, covered lanai encloses a porch off the master bedroom and living room, which looks down on a full-sized, heated, caged and very private pool. Recently remodeled inside with a bright, tropical flair and including tiled floors throughout, this home is surrounded by tropical flowers and plantings, lush foliage and abundant wildlife. Float on your back in the pool and watch and listen to ospreys circle overhead. A pet is welcome with pre-approval from the owner. The kitchen is fully stocked with first-class cookware and utensils, Crate and Barrel china -- totally ready for the gourmet cook. There are plenty of linens and towels, including lots of beach towels and chairs. It has a full-sized washer and dryer. Internet access is available. There is an additional refrigerator directly accessible from the pool area.
I bought my own home on Sanibel in 1989, so I have lived on this lovely tropical island and have experienced first hand how wonderful it can be. I will be happy to assist you to become more familiar with Sanibel
It is near to my own home, so I know first-hand what a great location it is.

The home was perfectly set up for us to come in and have a very comfortable 12 days.
I have rented this home for a total of 15 months since 2005. The location is perfect. Not only are you just a short walk to the beach, but you can get on and off the Island, to restaurants and shopping with minimal hassle in Sanibel's famed in-season traffic. The pool is nicely maintained and very private. The lot is large, lush and naturally tropical. The neighborhood is quiet and populated mostly by non-rental properties. I'm not much of a sheller, but I do walk the beach almost every day. There are plenty of shellers out and about. Plus, this house is exceptionally well equipped with all you will need to enjoy your stay. I've stayed in lots of rentals where the mattresses are lumpy, or you can't find a sharp knife, adequate utensils or an appropriate frying pan in the kitchen. Not true here. Same thing with the towels and linens. Lots of rentals have commercially laundered scratchy sheets and thin, flimsy towels. Not at this house. If you want to experience Sanibel, a refuge island deliberately and purposefully devoted to living respectfully side by side in nature, this is the convenient, comfortable, beautiful, relaxing, peaceful place to stay.

Major issue was the temperature of the house, through the day the ac unit did not cool the home efficiently. Even though the temperature outside was in the 90's I believe an ac unit should be able to keep the home below 80. Everything else went smoothly but it was uncomfortable inside most days. If your going for shelling, it's best to be closer to blind pass either sanibel or captiva, it's where you find a bunch of shells consistently. This location is within walking distance, about 3 blocks from the beach but we didn't find many good shells there. Over all it is a beautiful place to visit...just be sure to bring plenty of Deep Woods Off because the bugs are horrible.
Big Arts Theater--live music and theater, Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Sanibel Island Rec Center open to all with 3 pools, tennis, gym, basketball, fitness classes, etc. Two public golf courses--The Dunes and Beachview.
Sanibel Island is a world-class fishing destination, offering sport fishing for Tarpon, Redfish, Grouper, Amberjack, Spanish Mackeral, and other assorted fish species. Sanibel lies along TheGreat Calusa Blueway, a 190-mile marked kayak trail through southwest Florida waterways and estuaries. Lovers Key State Park, a short drive away, is a group of four barrier islands. A haven for wildlife, the islands and their waters are home to West Indian manatees, bottlenose dolphins, roseate spoonbills, marsh rabbits, and bald eagles. The two mile long beach is accessible by boardwalk or tram and is popular for shelling, swimming, picnicking, and sunbathing. Koreshan State Historic Site, once a colony known as the Koreshan Unity which began in Estero in 1894, where today visitors can fish, picnic, boat, and hike, includes a boat ramp and full facility campground.
