Overview

Punta Cana Condo Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom, 2.5 Bathroom Front Line Beach Condo

As seen on House Hunters International this true front line unit is right on Playa Palmera beach, part of the Coconut Coast. If you weren’t relaxing on your spacious, second floor balcony you would be standing in the sand with nothing but palm trees and breaking surf in front of you with gorgeous infinity and lap pools to the side.

If you enjoy staying at the end of the road in paradise this House Hunters International model unit boasts breathtaking Caribbean vistas with completely unobstructed views. Watch the surf break from your 300 square foot balcony, Living & Dining rooms, Master bedroom and even the kitchen sink! Throw the screens open to fall asleep surrounded by the sound of waves.

This richly detailed, 1722 square foot unit, has two Master suites. See palm trees from each and every room. Sip cocktails on your 300 square foot private balcony while grilling dinner. Most importantly, being truly front line, you will feel the ocean breeze day and night. AC is provided but we believe you will soon fall in love with and prefer the palm tree rustling sea winds.

This exclusive, gated community of only 30 units, has a well cared for private beach so there is no need to stress over finding a beach chaise or a shady spot. 24/7, not really necessary, security means constant peace of mind. In fact, there is nothing to do but endlessly relax. Enjoy watching a sky full of stars.

Inside you will find a fully equipped apartment with AC, ceiling fans, 2 separate showers, full size washer & dryer, gas stove, oven, fridge, bottled water dispenser, 42” TVs with Cable, DVD/BlueRays, radio/CD player, alarm clocks, security safe, microwave, cookware, fully loaded kitchen and bar dishes, coffee maker, blender, rice cooker, waffle maker, toaster, hair dryers, iron & ironing board, linens, towels/beach towels, children’s sand toys, board games, video, music & book libraries. FREE fiber optic cable WiFi provided inside the unit. Also free WiFi by the pool. Free MagicJack phone calls to USA and Canada.

Experience the scenic 24 mile drive from the Punta Cana airport to Uvero Alto on the new 4 lane highway which makes the drive fast, easy and safe by rental car or arranged pick up to arrive at a place full of comforts and few distractions so much quieter than overcrowded Bavaro yet near to a convenience store, bank, artisan souvenirs, restaurants and a water park. You can choose to never leave the beach or head back toward the casinos and night life if you prefer.

If you are looking for more than lounging with a good book and snorkeling right outside your door the onsite manager can arrange golfing, dolphin swims, boating, fishing, dune buggies, windsurfing, para-sailing, horseback riding, massage, shopping trips and more.

This is a NO Smoking unit.

About Denyse Gantenbein

We are a Canadian and Swiss couple who live in the United States but love to travel whenever we can manage it.

Denyse Gantenbein purchased this condo in 2012

Why Denyse Gantenbein chose Punta Cana

We love the friendly Dominican people. They are always so happy and fun. We have seldom met such consistently nice people in all of our travels.

What makes this condo unique

Las Dunas is small and personalized. Everyone is friendly and social yet it is quiet enough to have the beach or pool all to your self at times.

Breathtaking Views and Breezes

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful vacation at Las Dunas! The pictures look just as the condo is. Everything was clean and in great working order! We wanted a place that was relaxing and not filled with a lot of people. Las Dunas was just that! We walked the beach every morning. We visited Seafood Paradise several times. The fresh fish was wonderful! The staff is very friendly! We also went on a horseback riding excursion. The horses went through several palm tree groves and along the ocean....beautiful!! I will emphasize again, there are NO grocery stores within walking distance. Taking a taxi to the store costs 80.00. Even the convenience stores were very limited in their stock. We were well prepared and bought everything we needed in one trip. Unfortunately we arrived in Punta Cana on a "holiday" where all the stores were closed, so we had to pay an additional 80.00 for the taxi to take us to the grocery store the next day. Anywhere you want to take a taxi is VERY expensive.

Owner's Response: The horse back ride sounds wonderful! Yes, taxi drivers have learned to charge tourists making a rental car a better deal. I always recommend renting a car to get the most out of the area unless you intend to stock up fully upon arrival and then stick by the beach the whole time. For those who are hesitant to drive I have had guests thank me for talking them into trying driving.

Wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful condo overlooking a private beach. It was our first time trying the non-inclusive route and what a great experience it has been. For those of you who'd like to have some time away from the crowds, this is the place to go to. Beautifully furnished apartment, with everything you need, security and management on site. We enjoyed our stay so much and are looking forward to coming back.

Outstanding and well worth the cost

  • 5 of 5

Most people rent a place like this for one or two weeks. We stayed here for 2 months and absolutely loved it. So much so that we are coming back for 2 months again Jan and Feb 2016. Everything you read about this condo is valid and true. For us it really became "our" home. We were totally comfortable. The pictures and description of the property are true and honest. You get what you see and a great deal more. Always an important item is the quality/comfort of the bed. We have been disappointed in the past with beds in rentals. The master bedroom bed is very good. Sleeping was never a problem and the place is quiet at night.

The condo is clean, upscale, spacious, quiet and inviting the moment you open the door. The staff is EXCELLENT. Rafael and Marcia could not have been more gracious and welcoming. My wife got sick one day and needed to go to the hospital for one night, Rafael went with us and made sure everything was OK. We will never forget that courtesy. If you have a problem they are on it right away. Even your garbage is collected DAILY--what a treat. In addition to the overall beauty of the condo itself the grounds of the complex are well maintained, beach is clean, pool area clean, lawn cut etc. It was very hard, after 2 months, to return to a 2 foot snowstorm.

Denyse, the owner, is great to work with---very helpful. For example, I was disappointed that the condo did not have a BBQ. She responded by getting one. I believe we were the first to use it. She is quick to respond to questions and has prepared an excellent activities/restaurant guide to the area.

Are there any complaints? Yes, very minor ones that do not take away from the overall experience----afterall we are returning again for 2 months in 2016. If I had a magic wand I would make the beach white sand instead of normal color sand. Also I would make restaurants and grocery stores a bit closer but we knew that going in so that was no surprise. Day passes at nearby all-inclusives are out of sight expensive----you would never eat that much food in a day. So dining out requires a 10 mile drive one way. Shopping at the best super market is 20 miles one way. So I do not recommend you stay there without a car. Their is a good beachside seafood restaurants easy walking distance but you would bored eating every meal there and you can't get breakfast there. Long term renters like us did almost all cooking by ourselves.

You will not go wrong with this property. That is why we are coming back.

Owner's Response: I know you had a great time with all of the many friends you made while staying so long. Thank you for being wonderful guests. The onsite staff have already told me that they are looking forward to seeing you again next year. There are only 3 supermarkets in the entire Punta Cana region. All are just off the main highway and none are near any beach. After 'Seafood Paradise' the first seafood restaurant you come to walking up the beach a little further pleasant walking brings you to 'Kucara-Mucara' a full menu restaurant. It is also possible to drive to both restaurants by going the long way around away from the beach.

'Ab Fab' vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Just spent a fabulous 2 1/2 weeks at your lovely condo, thanks so much for sharing it with us! (I almost didn't write a review since I wanted to keep this treasure a secret!) I have rented several properties throughout the Caribbean, and this one is one of the best. You have thought of just about everything one needs to make this place a "home away from home", (except home does not offer such spectacular views of the sea, beach and palm trees )...and the pictures online don't do this place justice!

Not only did I have a much needed peaceful and relaxing vacation (I practically had the beach to myself during the entire trip!), but also made life long friends with Rafael and his very "British" family.

Additional shout out goes to the wonderful staff at Las Dunes (Damero, Marcia etc), all of whom were very welcoming and helpful. Like others who have posted before, I did not want the hassle of driving, so arranged for Rafael to pick me up (and drop me off) from the airport, and we stopped off for groceries on the way to the condo. A tip for fellow travelers, do stock up on everything you need for the duration of your trip including plenty of UHT milk cartons and bread (which can be frozen and thaws out perfectly), since additional trips to the grocery store will cost you between $50.00 - 80.00 each way. I cooked most of the time, since I am a vegetarian, however there were plenty of good seafood restaurants close by for those who prefer not to cook.

I would highly recommend this property, both beach and pool areas as well as the grounds were immaculate, and the condo was just perfect. I would give this place 5 star +++ if I could!

Denyse, thanks again, and I will speak to you soon about booking your "ab fab" place again this year.

Owner's Response: I heard that you created a real feast in the kitchen. There's nothing like cooking with a view! Taxis are costly so a rental car is a better deal unless you choose to fully stock up at arrival then stick by the beach the whole time. There are 2 small convenience stores offering the bare essentials plus alcohol a 1 km walk away (down the beach then across a field). There are many adventure excursions which pickup/drop off at our place.

Christmas in the DR

  • 5 of 5

We are honored to write a review of the VRBO accommodations and experience we had from December 23 to December 31, 2014 because EVERYTHING was fantastic! Denyse provided us with loads of information pre-trip in order for us to be prepared when we arrived. Her communication was excellent. The Las Dunas 2A unit was simply breathtaking. All the furniture and appliances were gorgeous and in perfect working order. The condo included every item a family could want or need while visiting the Dominican Republic and Las Dunas. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, glassware, a variety of small appliances and a full water cooler. The stove, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, washer and dryer were clean, easy to use and in perfect working order. The furniture was comfortable and stylish. The beds were first rate and contributed to a restful vacation. There were beach toys, outdoor radio, and beach towels for us to enjoy. The beach and grounds of the complex were immaculate. The views were amazing. The manager, Marcia, was helpful, knowledgeable and always available to answer our questions. The other staff (maintenance and security) were so kind and friendly, it was hard to say good bye. The pool was picture perfect as was the beach. The weather was hot (80’s) and sunny almost everyday. Even when it rained, the sun had a way of peeking out at some point in the day. We dined at the nearby Seafood Paradise and Kucara Mucara both of which were outstanding. Fresh red snapper caught hours before it was grilled was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. . We also dined at restaurants recommended by condo owners we met by the pool including Citrus, Jellyfish, and Hurican Café. Our family agrees we rate five stars on all our accommodation and dining experiences. We spent a day on an adventurous excursion, which included a history lesson about the DR and a Zip Line experience. We walked along the beach and on the sidewalks every morning for exercise, which was very safe and enjoyable. We shopped for groceries at the Super Pola near the airport and near highway 3. We rented a car, which is a must in order to grocery shop and get around. Our 21, 18 and 14 yr old children all proclaimed “this was our best family vacation”. We are hoping to return to the DR and Las Dunas in the future.

Mark and Jennifer O.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such a glowing review. I'm so happy that every member of your family really enjoyed themselves. For guests who choose to stay by the beach the whole time we offer airport pickup with a stop for grocery shopping for a fee...be sure to buy steaks now that we have a George Foreman outdoor grill.
