Designation as a Florida Main Street City by the State further assures the city's heritage will be preserved. The historic 1925 city planned community of Venice Florida abounds in natural beauty and splendor and great beach options:

Brohard Paw Park (Dog Friendly Beach)

For dog lovers, noteworthy in Venice is The Brohard Paw Park (1600 Harbor Dr. S., 941-861-9830), with dog drinking fountains, showers on decks for dogs only, fire hydrants and leash posts. The park is also adjacent to the only beach area in the county where dogs are allowed to roam free. Dog lovers have declared this park and beach to be the best dog friendly park in the state.

Caspersen Beach

The longest beach in Sarasota County, is located south of Venice Airport on Harbor Drive. It has been left in its natural state, uncultivated, windswept, and secluded. This is an exceptionally good area to look for and find pre-historic sharks teeth as well as enjoyable shelling. It is also site of the annual Sharks Tooth and Seafood Festival.

Venice Municipal Beach

An excellent place to find sharks teeth and other fossilized material and attracts divers to its coral reef about one quarter mile offshore.

Nokomis Beach, a quiet, family-oriented beach, a good place for fishing, strolling, or launching a boat.

About Kay Musech Brandow

Tim and I love to travel and experience other cultures, especially in Spain. Some of our favorite pass times are boating, biking, walking, antiquing and playing with our 2 dogs.

Why Kay Musech Brandow chose Venice

We purchased this home with the desire to turn it into our little Spanish getaway within the U.S.. Only now we can take the dogs with us too.

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with Venice because of the historic small town feel on the island. We challenge ourselves to either bike or walk wherever we go and not use the car. Everything we need is close enough to do that. But if we need a 'Home Depot fix' we are also close to many amenities, recreational areas and site seeing spots.

Fabulous Resort Style House

My family nicknamed this sprawling estate "La Hacienda". We've been coming to Venice for 15 years over spring break to visit my parents who winter in a condo on the beach. We've always rented houses, but none have compared to this beautiful home. Just exploring all of the indoor and outdoor spaces was an adventure! Although we only had our small family of 3 at the home for the week, we had many visitors and entertained a large group for Easter. It is a great home for entertaining and would be ideal for 2 families to share. The pool was actually larger and better landscaped than the ones at most condos. We also got great attention from the owners, during the rental process and once we arrived. We are excited to go back again next year!

The moment we walked into the front door we were in shock to find how beautiful this home is - in perfect condition waiting for our family to enjoy its amenities. The walk to the beach and the main strip is close and worth the adventure. The owners were very courteous and quick to respond to our emails and always seemed open to communication. We travelled as a family of four, so there was definitely more than enough room for our family here. You can easily share the space with 2 or 3 similar size families. We also loved how the home is decorated and all the furniture is very comfortable. Simply exploring this home is an adventure and we also plan to return in the future. Thank you to the owners for letting us stay in your home.
