This distinctive ground-floor apartment is situated in the vibrant district of Cannaregio, near the magnificent Madonna dell’Orto church (and its handy vaporetto stop, offering a 20-min Alilaguna boat ride direct from the airport).
Handy, yet well-off the battered main tourist track, one can live amongst the locals as a local. Grab a caffè in a bustling pasticceria, shop in the open markets, or dine in one of the many colorful seafood restaurants lining the nearby Misericordia canal; check e-mail before heading out to explore the city over tea in your private garden.
The iconic, eponymous church of Madonna dell’Orto with its world famous collection of Tintoretto works is literally around the corner, as is the artist’s home where he lived for most of his life.
This is a ground-floor apartment that is *never* affected by high-water (although we supply boots in case it shows up outside). Draw screens down over open windows and mosquitoes will never be a problem.
This is the quintessential Venetian neighborhood, 'ben servito,' which means you can find anything from supermarkets, fresh markets, and shops for vino “al sfuso” and finer fare, to butchers to pasticcerie, from clothing and shoe to hardware stores, to bars and bàcari to notions and pharmacies. This area of the Cannaregio sestiere also boasts some of the best and most reasonably options for dining in Venice, with a host of cafes and eateries in the city. Of course, you’ll receive our insider’s list on arrival!
This cozy, airy apartment is handy to the Orto vaporetto stop serving Lines 4 and 5, and also to San Marcuola and the Grand Canal. Saunter to the San Sofia traghetto to be ferried to the Rialto Markets and all of San Polo, or hop the Ca d'Oro vaporetto instead.
For the actively inclined, just down the fondamenta Gasparini is the starting point for RowVenice.org Venetian rowing lessons.
Had a wonderful long weekend in February 2015 and very much enjoyed Judith's lovely flat. Superb location - away from the core tourist areas yet within easy reach of great locations by foot or river bus. The flat itself is well appointed, comfortable, clean and tidy and was a very pleasant place to return to after day's wandering. Easily recommend.
This apartment is In a real neighborhood in Venice, away from the crowds. Here you have access to bàcari that serve amazing ciccetti. There is also fast access to the vaporetto, which takes you around Venice, to the islands and to/from the airport.
This apartment was ideal in many ways. First, it is very close to the vaporetto boat stop and easy to find. Second, it very comfortably accommodated two people. One of us took the bedroom, the other slept on the futon-type couch in the sitting area. Both of us slept comfortably. Plenty of sheets, towels...fully equipped kitchen...lovely little patio. Also, this apartment is in a quiet neighborhood...which made it especially nice to come home in the evenings after spending days in the bustle of Venice. Groceries and restaurants were close by. Perfect, would definitely stay here again.
We had a great stay. Nan was very helpful. The appartment is just the right size for two. It is full of fun furnishing and very comfortable. It was a little dusty but this did not prevent us from enjoying our stay.
My wife and I stayed in this apartment a year ago, and then came back this year in July– it is an amazing hidden gem in Venice and we can't wait to go back again!
Two features of the apartment are especially notable. It is incredibly quiet, and a wonderful refuge for sleeping and relaxing. Also, the private garden is a wonderful place to sit and have breakfast, or read a book in the afternoon.
Overall, the apartment had everything we needed, is very tastefully decorated, and the location is incredibly convenient from the airport, as there is a water bus (the Alilaguna) that goes directly from the airport to just near the apartment. We were able to walk easily from the apartment to all the tourist sites, but the apartment itself is in a much less touristy part of town, and it was a relief to come home at night and get away from the crowds. We loved going to the market in the morning and getting fresh seafood so we could cook amazing seafood pasta and eat in the apartment's private garden.
The house manager was also fantastic in terms of helping us get settled in, and giving us recommendations on things to do. She is a sommelier and had especially great restaurant suggestions!
Corina's is a lovely, large apartment in a quiet corner of the Canareggio district. While it's not ideal, maybe, for those who want to be in the middle of the action, it's PERFECT for those of us who want to step away from the tourist insanity and have a real Venetian neighbourhood experience. Lovely restaurants are very close by, but without the hordes of gawkers. And if you really want to hit the tourist scene, Strada Nova is only 5 minutes away anyway.
Corina's is well-served by the vaporettos, with San Marcuola stop only abotu 10 minutes away on foot. This stop is key as it's served by teh night boat, which runs into the wee hours.
Corina's is also great for airport access: The Orto stop is literally 50 paces from the front door, and the Alilaguna boat goes there direct to the airport. In a very confusing city where hauling bags is a huge pain, this is a major point in Corina's favour. I would stay here again, no question.

Alilaguna Arancio line offers an easy 20-minute, €15 boat ride from the airport to this extraordinarily tranquil neighborhood, just around the corner from Tintoretto's original home, his church, the luminous Madonna dell'Orto, and the Jewish Ghetto.
