This Vacation House is perfect for a family ski trip. The house is extremely homey and functional, and it is a perfect location to enjoy the Jay Peak mountain while still occupying a full single family home. You will have a beautiful Jay Peak view, and you can literally watch the tram go up the mountain from the couch! The property has been completely renovated from top to bottom with new windows, floors, walls, woodwork, kitchen, baths, and appliances.
The kitchen has tons of counter space thanks to a large peninsula that doubles as a breakfast bar, and also has a large dining table that will sit up to 10 people. There are two living areas both with a TV and DVD player. The upstairs space is complete with a full size bar and a balcony that overlooks the babbling brook that runs behind the house. The first of the two bathrooms has a huge whirlpool tub perfect for pampering after a long day on the mountain. The second has a tub/shower combination, and also houses a washer and dryer.
This ski house will sleep up to 8 people comfortably, with plenty of other space for air mattresses. It has three bedrooms on the upstairs level. The first bedroom has a king bed, the second room has a queen, and the third room at the end of the hall has two bunk bed. The upstairs living space has a full couch that someone could easily sleep on as well.
The house is right off of Route 242 and very easy to find. It is just a couple miles from the Jay Country Store, and still only 1 mile from Jay Peak Resort entrance!
I was born and raised in Orleans, VT and grew up skiing and snowboarding at Jay Peak when it was still just a small Ski Area. My family and friends still reside in the area, but my husband, my 2 kids and I now live in NH. We come up frequently to visit, and we use the house for our own family vacations as well.
If during your stay you needed to contact us for any reason please do so, and either myself or our property manager will be able to assist you and your needs.
Meghann Hennrikus purchased this house in 2012
Fantastic location, super close to Jay Peak and easy to find. Plenty of space, clean, well-equipped kitchen, and the jacuzzi is great after a long day on the slopes. Meghann was very responsive to messages before and during our stay. No complaints!
Great place to stay for a family of 6--spacious, well equipped and perfect location for skiing at Jay. Owner is so helpful. Loved it!
This family was extremely accommodating, and I had no issues with anything. I brought my slippers and it was just like I was at home. Except for the awesome view of Jay right up the road. It's so close to the mountain, but far enough away for some privacy. I'll definitely be returning!
We rented this chalet for a Easter ski trip and we will definitely rent again! Down the road from Jay Peak, it's location is one of the highlights. This chalet felt like home. I'd highly recommend it to large families or a friend's getaway. Thanks to Meghann for being so accommodating! We'll be in touch!
The house was clean, cozy and had all the emenities! We were a mere stones throw from the entrance of Jay Peak and snowboarded two days straight on the best conditions I've ever been on. We were spent most nights so we basically ate, showered and slept there but there is a really cool bar there and a lot great niceties that would make your stay there great even if there was no snow. Also there is a really nice creek that runs behind the house that must be beautiful during the summer months. Great stay, and we plan on returning! Owner/manager was great and easy to work with as well. I had two other properties (that fell through) in the area where the owners neglected to get back to me even after I had sent a confirmation email that I wanted to stay there and ready to make a deposit (shady ppl). Meghann was the exact opposite and responded quickly, respectively and very forthcoming! Great experience here!
This cabin was a great value for the price. We were a group of 7 adults driving in from Canada. The house was extremely close to Jay Peak and we were able to get in full days of skiing and come home for a hot lunch to boot. This was in large part why we chose this rental. It had a nice-sized kitchen and the rooms all suited our group perfectly. The cabin itself is a bit unlevel physicially and the heating throughout the house was a bit uneven as noted by a few members of our group, but aside from that we had 0 issues and enjoyed our stay very much.
