Other Activities:
Skiing is by far the most popular of all the Vail winter activities. Home to the Vail Ski Resort, Vail offers some of the best skiing in the world and is the second largest ski mountain in North America – the largest in the nation.
The Vail Ski Area offers skiers four terrain parks and seven bowls. You’ll find more than 5,200 acres of skiable trails and 30-plus ski lifts. You’ll also find almost 200 trails with about half of the trails for advanced skiers. There are trails for beginners and intermediate – the front bowls for beginners and back bowls for more advanced skiers.
If you’ve never taken a Vail ski vacation, no worries! Here you can take private ski lessons or even attend ski school with a large group. Lessons are available for both adults and children. You also can rent all necessary equipment anywhere in Vail!
Another favorite among Vail winter activities is snowboarding! For beginning snowboarders, check out Golden Peak Terrain Park or Park 101. Intermediate snowboarders can enjoy superpipe at the Zoom Room while experts can check out Cheetah Gully, Riva Bahn, Riva Glade and Hairbag Alley.
You and your travel companions also can enjoy bob sledding, ice skating, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Whether you’re with the whole family or your significant, there is plenty to do on your Vail ski vacation.

After the snow has melted you’ll relish in the warmer temperatures, lush greenery and blooming buds. Take advantage of the changing seasons – and beautiful mountain views – by taking part in an outdoor activity.
Some of the most popular Vail summer activities are biking, hiking, white water rafting, hot air ballooning, fishing and horseback riding. Whether you’re on a family vacation or couple’s weekend, you’re sure to find an activity that will leave you with lasting memories.
In addition to the numerous outdoor recreation activities, Vail also offers cultural events and festivals. Catch the Vail Film Festival in the springtime and then the Vail Valley Music Festival or the Vail International Dance Festival in the summer.
