Uptown Suttons Bay - the best value on the Leelanau Peninsula

Near Sleeping Bear Dunes which was voted the most beautiful place in the USA by viewers of ABC's 'Good Morning America' program. Everything.is within walking distance including 2 beaches and a waterfront park.

If you want to be on the Leelanau Peninsula but still be close to Traverse City in a year-around village, Suttons Bay is the choice. Close to Traverse City (20 scenic minutes along the Lake Michigan shoreline), on the famous Wine Trail near the Leelanau Sands Casino - and Suttons Bay does not shut down in the winter like other villages on the peninsula.

The on-site natural waterfall is twenty feet high and turbulent; the decor is vintage mixed-media - fanciful imagery expressed by an artist-owner drawn to folklore, fairy tales, storybooks, eclectic ephemera, and her mother Lorraine's legendary legacy (she never endured social confines for long.)

I live an enterprising life with 3 vacation houses, work with an international student exchange and offer wedding officiation. Don is a professional hotel entertainer from Bradenton/Sarasota Florida; we live next-door. Don plays and sings many Thursday afternoons 4-7 on the patio, public is welcome, BYOB, you get the best seats.

Charm and great location. It is in an upscale village 15 minutes along the shoreline from Traverse City. The back yard is serene with a massive natural waterfall and ancient trees. You can walk to cafes, the waterfront library (with computers), beach, boutiques and post office. The village is on the Leelanau Wine Trail and the tasting rooms are beautiful and welcoming - a new vodka distillery is 3 miles up the road with free tastings.

What makes this house unique

Leelanau Sands Casino is 3 miles. Nearly 30 wineries are within a 45 minute drive, the closest is 3 miles. Traverse City is 15 scenic minutes away. Suttons Bay village is upscale and impeccably maintained. 3 waterfront parks. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park is nearby.

This is a well-known region of wineries, boutiques, art galleries, beaches, orchards, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park. Leelanau Sands Casino is three miles away and offers concerts and gaming. It is a 20 minute drive along the shoreline to Traverse City and 7 miles to Leland's popular 'Fishtown.' (Designated on the Historic Registry, dockside boutiques and merchants selling smoked fish and gourmet foods in rustic shanties.) Leelanau Peninsula is a beautiful place often written up in the New York Times and other publications as a vacation destination.

(Owner stays next door ). 2 staircases (one spiral and not suggested for small children). Three upstairs bedrooms (one with king, one with full and twin, and one with two twins). Live music most Thursdays on Patio featuring Don, formerly a 20-year lounge entertainer in Florida. Karaoke, vocals, keyboards, BYOB, public invited (presented right by your front door)
