Guestbook comments from the manager

When we arrived it was just as expected, beautiful cabin with a great view. Conveniently located to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, The Great Smokey Mountains. Lots to do and see in the area. Very relaxing, quiet area. We loved every minute of our vacation. We now want to find property and move to TN within the next 5-10 years. I would definitely recommend this to family, friends and tourists.

Unexpected little getaway!

  • 4 of 5

We found this little cabin by chance while searching online. I was unsure about the quality of the stay considering the nightly rate was so low but I was pleasantly surprised! Upon arrival the driveway was a little daunting to say the least but after 4 days we were professionals at it! The cabin itself is simply adorable and certainly lives up to the "cozy" title. The view was wonderful and everything was very clean. The only suggestions I have would be for the jets in the hot tub to be serviced, they barely worked (the water was very clean and we still enjoyed it however), It would be wonderful if there could be a few pieces of complementary firewood available :). And I would love to see a coat rack, I think it would make a useful addition to the cabin! I enjoyed every minute of my stay and will be returning! Thank you for a great vacation cozy cabin! :)

Not so great

  • 3 of 5

This was our third time to the Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg area each time staying in a different cabin and this cabin was by far our least favorite. As stated it is much smaller than we thought. The floor by the refrigerator was very spongy (cold air return was what we were told), the closet in the bedroom were both full, one with the dorm size washer and dryer the other with cleaning materials, covers, chairs, etc. So we had no where to hang our clothes which we did eventually just take the basket of extra covers out and put it on the bathtub, leaving us to move each time we wanted to use it. Several of the décor had some defect to them, the hot tub was low on water, only had one setting and no chlorine tablets. The bathroom light and fan was not good either. Light was very dim and fan hardly worked. The blinds were almost all missing the rod to adjust the blinds from all dark to light and there were no screens in the windows. The TV in the bedroom (as told to my husband) only worked with the DVD player so we were unable to watch TV in bed in the morning or late evening had to sit in the living room if we wanted to. The grill is a grill you would find in a park, not a normal Charcoal grill. The view wasn't the greatest, you can see the mountains only if you look to the right from the deck, otherwise you see only trees. You are only provided one dish cloth and towel for dishes (am guessing you are expected to use the dishwasher at which you have to buy the tablets for, only one was provided). This was not something I would recommend for a long stay (we were there 7 nights). A weekend maybe but we will definitely not be choosing this cabin again when we return next year.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our property. We are sorry that you did not have a pleasant experience during your stay with us. We see that you felt that many of the furnishings were sub-par and you were not happy with the view. You also mentioned that you were unhappy with the amount of dish towels and tablets. Please know that depending on our guests length of stay and sleep number of the property, we will provide an adequate amount of towels, we do however state in our booking agreement and check-in information that you will be provided with a starter amount of cleaning supplies and soap, and our guests are responsible for anything above and beyond that amount. There is a washer and dryer in the unit for our guests convenience should they need to wash towels (we know usage varies depending on family size and needs). You had concerns about the hot tub. Please know that our hot tubs are treated and maintained with the appropriate chemicals as per all health code requirements and that our staff receive specialized training to preform the maintenance. If you did not see chlorine tablets, it is because the hot tub did not require it due to the chemical treatments preformed prior to your arrival. We strive to make sure that our guests are happy and comfortable during their stay with us, and we would like to say that are sorry that you were not completely happy with the cabin. We wish that we could have addressed the entirety of your concerns during your stay. We hope that we will have an opportunity to have your business again. We would love to be able to match you with another property that would better accommodate your family's needs. Our team will be reviewing your concerns and making appropriate adjustments. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review. Summit 54 Properties, iTrip Team

Great location, gorgeous view, relaxing stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at Cozy Cottage and would return again! The only hiccup was that the trash outdoors had not been removed from the previous guests and animals had gotten into the trash. However, we contacted the owners and they responded immediately and took care of it - we were impressed with their quick response. Overall it did not take away from our relaxing vacation! The view was incredible, the location was private and peaceful yet Cozy Cottage is only minutes away from the amenities of Pigeon Forge! For the price, we would definitely recommend Cozy Cottage! When you do, make sure to ride the nearby Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster :)

Disappointed

  • 2 of 5

For the price, the cabin was fair. As stated before, much smaller than what the pictures present. It was comfortable for 2, but wasnt as large as we had thought - but only blame ourselves as we had been told by previous reviewers. Again as stated before, water smelled HORRIBLE. Majority of the time, the water throughout the cabin smelled of rotten eggs and we would not drink it nor use it for food. After letting it run for awhile, it would seem to somewhat go away. Nothing is noted about the shower and I can now see why. VERY small 1 person shower - would have liked to know about that before the trip. The hot tub was okay. One side of the hot tub jets seemed to barely work, the other side was very "weak". On top of that there was no chemical dispenser floating in the hot tub, which the hot tub papers said that there would be. On our last night after hiking we decided to TRY to use the jacuzzi.. and couldnt. First the water turned cold before the jacuzzi even filled up and when it did we noticed that the majority of jets didnt do anything at all. So we were unable to use this even when it was one of our necessities when choosing the cabin. Grill that is in the picture is not the one that is at the cabin. Instead there is just a "park-style" grill, which worked fine but I dont like using them. Drive way is very hard to maneuver. I thought about calling about the water.. hot tub .. jacuzzi.. etc but when I go on vacation for a reason, so that I dont have to deal with problems. Had it been something like no heat/ac, no electricity, I would have called. But I did not want to waste my time calling multiple times for multiple problems. If you have already reserved this cabin I would contact and make sure they have fixed these problems. On the plus side the deck and view are much better than I expected, but that alone did not make this cabin one that I would return to. I do not think I would rent from ITrip (cabin company/owners) again.
