The Stoney Hill Road House has 3 full bathrooms, a powder room and a very spacious outdoor shower. The master bathroom has a full roll in shower to accommodate a wheelchair, if necessary, and a glass enclosed shower room with an attached soaking tub. There are his and her sinks. The second full bathroom is part of Bedroom #2 and it has a traditional combination tub with integrated shower and a single sink. This 2nd bathroom is shared with TV Room #2 if the latter is being used as sleeping quarters. The third full bathroom has a roll in shower. It is downstairs and is shared with bedrooms # 3 & 4 and the downstairs living room couch if it is being used for sleeping. The powder room is located near the kitchen.

The Stoney Hill Road House has four bedrooms. The master bedroom has an attached private office, walk in closet, built in dressers, cabinets and shelves and a private bath with a roll in shower and a second shower and soaking tub. Bedroom # 2 also has a private attached bathroom with full tub and shower. This room has a queen size bed with an outdoor patio area that is shared with TV Room # 2. Bedroom # 3 has a queen bed and bedroom # 4 has a king bed. These two bedrooms share a full bathroom downstairs which also has a roll in shower. There is a downstairs living room that has a fold out queen bed and the TV Room # 1 also has a fold out queen couch. Both TV Rooms have doors and can be closed off from the rest of the house.

Pets are possible with pre approval and will carry an additional $1,000 security deposit. The house is very pet friendly but there are expensive rugs on the floor.

The Stoney Hill Road House was designed by the owner, a middle aged quadriplegic with 30 years of life in a chair. This is the ultimate wheelchair accessible house. There are no stairs and no ramps. The master bath has a full roll in chair and a separate glass enclosed shower and soaking tub. It's the 'disabled and able' equivalent of 'his and hers.' There is elevator access to the lower level where another shared bathroom has a roll in shower.
In order to allow for flush entrance ways, the foundation of the house has a 'moat' of gravel held in by concrete walkways and patios. The gravel level which is lower than grade is bridged at the doorways by connecting wooden platforms. The concrete is at the same level as the grass and parking area.
The island is a good vacation spot for people with disabilities. There is an extensive network of bike paths through the woods and along the water as well as public, accessible beaches. There is also a chair accessible public bus.

In addition to the 4 BRs, there are two TV rooms with doors and very comfortable fold out queen couches. There is a third fold out queen couch in the downstairs living room. With the fold out couches, seven couples can be comfortably accommodated.
In between beaches, shopping, sightseeing, etc. you and your kids can take a walk from the house to see horses, donkeys, mules, alpaca, deer, turkeys, skunks and an abundant number of bird species that are attracted to the confluence of open grass fields and dense forrest.
If planned in advance, children MAY be able to take a horseback riding lesson or have a trail ride at the property. If you know you or your child would like to do some riding, please ask the owner for details.
