Area description:
Less than three and a half miles away from the city centre, Fulham is a vibrant area within the London Borough Hammersmith and Fulham. It lies directly across the river from Putney and Barnes and is well served by the District Line as well as a the river boat service! One of Chelsea’s siblings, there is plenty to commend Fulham as a neighborhood in its own right: many green spaces, independent boutiques, tree-lined roads and the renowned River Café restaurant, making it one of London’s most desirable (and expensive) areas to live. It is also the home of Stamford Bridge, Chelsea FC’s football stadium and Fulham Palace, the former residence of the Bishops of London from 704 onwards, which is today a museum recounting the history of the building. Famed for its wonderful pubs and open spaces, Fulham is an excellent base for both locals and visitors.
