Great Family Place

  • 5 of 5

Two families totalling eleven people rented this home over the Martin Luther King Holiday. It was wonderfully appointed and well equipped in a great location. The gourmet kitchen had everything necessary for cooking our meals while there. The dining room table seated ten and it was easy to pull up chairs to seat more. The open Kitchen, Dining & Living Room area made gathering easy. There is a great area off the front porch for taking on and off ski equipment and it is heated which is a real treat. There is even a boot dryer. The hot tub is huge and easily seated 6-8 people with an amazing view off the deck of the mountains.

We enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the firepit on the deck one evening. The house has a variety of games and a wonderful pool table.

There is some question getting on and off the slopes. We hiked about four houses up the hill and then skied Four O'Clock Run to the Snowflake lift. At lunch and at the end of the day we exited Four O'Clock to the same spot and walked downhill to the house. If there was more snow you could probably ski down the road to the house. You can also take Four O'Clock to the Gondola or to a bus stop on Main Street.

NOT A SKI IN SKI OUT!

  • 3 of 5

While the home was beautiful, we were overly excited about spending our extended weekend in a skin in - ski out home. This truly was not the case! We trekked our way up and down four-o-clock run everyday. Not fun at all when you are skiing, drinking and watching basketball all day at one of the Peaks with your closest friends. I suggest you change your heading on your ad so you don't mislead any other guests.

Owner's Response: Dear Alex & Jenn, We are sorry our directions were not clear about how to ski-in and ski-out of our home. To ski-out, all you have to do is strap on your skis and ski down the backyard to the right about 75’ to Four O’clock Run which will take you to Snowflake Lift. To ski-in, ski down Four O’clock Run and jump off on to Four O’clock Run Road about 300 yds. past the SnowCat storage area. We are 3 houses downhill on Four O’clock Run Road which you can either ski or walk down to our home. All ski-in, ski-out homes are dependent on the snow conditions. But in March, there was plenty of snow to ski-in and ski-out of our home. Again, we are sorry this was not adequately explained.
