Disliked: Check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Do not stay here!
Terrible stay. Our host never sent us check in instructions. We sent multiple messages and called before and after our scheduled check-in time that were never answered. We were worried that we had been scammed as we drove through the ghetto to the property where we luckily found a phone number on the gate for another property manager who fortunately knew the gate and door codes and let us in. Our property manager never responded, and blew us off when we finally exchanged messages days later. The listing should have stated that the property is in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Houston, that was reported by the Houston Fox affiliate as “The most dangerous neighborhood in Houston.” (Google most dangerous neighborhood in Houston and Houston is a dangerous town!) The apartment is actually new construction, neatly appointed with cheap furniture, but it is built with paper thin walls so you will hear your neighbor cough. And, just wait until the trains blow through at night! To add insult to a sleepless night, the keurig didn’t even work to give you a half decent cup of coffee. Starbucks is in the medical center, and the nearest McDonald’s literally has bars on the drive through window; we would have been better off sleeping there.
