Watch the tide and relax in our comfortable and beautifully furnished one bedroom apartment. We are located on the ocean on Douglas Island just two miles from down town Juneau. Sit on our deck, bathe in our cedar sauna, take a stroll on the beach or just relax in the garden while watching the wildlife play and the sun glowing off the surrounding mountains. There is plenty of off street parking and a deck with great views for you to eat meals surrounded by nature.
The apartment includes a bedroom with an ocean view, a queen bed, and plenty of clothing storage. The family room includes a stone wall fireplace, new lazy boy furniture, flat screen TV and DVD player, table, murphy bed and another incredible ocean view. The kitchen is fully furnished. We are the Kleinhenz family. We love living in Juneau and enjoying the outdoors. Hiking and fishing as a family are our favorite activities. We hope your stay with us will be comfortable and enjoyable.
This property provides some of the best views in town. The ocean is steps from the apartment and you can see downtown and the mountains along with the ever changing tides from the apartment. The house is close to downtown and lots of great hikes. It's the perfect combination of being away from it all and near it all at once.
"I have owned and operated B&B's in Colorado for twenty years and I must commend Christine on the accommodations. She has though of everything to make our stay absolutely wonderful! Her decorating style is beautiful and so very cozy!"
Wow!!!! What an amazing view! Cozy and comfortable updated vacation rental. We chose to get away from the hotels and motels, and definitely did not regret that choice. Everything we could have asked for in a place, plus comfortable indoor and outdoor space.
The views from the bedroom and front room are spectacular. Bonfires on the beach. Watching the Northern Lights while laying in bed. Nothing more fun then getting in a hot sauna after a days adventure around Juneau. We had such an amazing time during our stay. The Kleinhenz's are such a wonderful family. We felt right at home. The apartment is cute and clean with everything a person needs.
This was our second stay at Tidewatcher, and we couldn't have been happier! Christine and Brian and family are fabulous hosts and friends!! The apartment is spacious, cozy, and beautifully appointed… The view is amazing… And, the kitchen has everything you need from utensils to cook a full meal, to a basket of snacks. Our family of four stayed here quite comfortably… Our children would have happily stayed there forever! ;) I have, and will continue to recommend Tidewatcher to anyone i know who is visiting Juneau! Thank you, Christine and Brian, for making us feel at home while away from home!! :)
Very close to downtown, easy access, lovely view, nice yard owners share with guests. Bonfire pit by the water was so much fun. Two of us stayed for a week, comfortable furniture and bed. Parking available.
Christine & Brian have made this a great rental home. There were three adults on our trip. Two in the bedroom, the third in a drop down wall bed. The views from home are amazing! Great kitchen to prepare meals. Juneau and Douglas have so much to offer. Hiking, whale watching, float planes, eagles, kayaking, mountain goat viewing, delicious restaurants...Awesome breakfast at the Sandpiper. Christine and Brian were a very good resource for information. We look forward to returning next summer!
This spring we spent 1 month in SE AK, Ketchikan-Juneau-Haines-Kluane PK, Skagway. This was the best VRBO we stayed in (all were good). Christine and Brian are superb hosts. There was some construction going on in the front drive and Christine was very accomodating, for what was a minor inconvenience - they're just that kind of folks. We've offered an invite for them to visit us in the lower 48! The facility is awesome - views across the channel to a snow dotted mtn with mountain goats (others watched bears). Evenings a tidal shore bonfire - watch the cruise ships depart and be glad to be in this VRBO! Excellent furnishings inside. Juneau itself was also a delight. Best food on the trip (Pizza, burgers, and Fresh Halibut Fish and Chips to die for!!) - ask Christine for spots to go. Beautiful hikes. Juneau and Douglas Island is like a large 'H'. Juneau downtown/docks on the East end of the 'crossbar'. This VRBO across the Douglas bridge on the west side of the 'crossbar'. You are away from it all, but still minutes from downtown. Up the NE arm of the 'H', beach picnic tables where you can watch for whales and great stream fishing. You'll have no regrets booking in here!
