LOCATION:

DuPont Circle is a vibrant neighborhood and great location from which to experience Washington, DC. You are just 2 blocks from the Red Line Metro stop, and can walk to historic Georgetown, George Washington University, The World Bank, and IMF, Embassy Row, think tanks, and museums, among others points of interest. The neighborhood is filled with wonderful restaurants, shops, cafes and grassy parks. On Sundays, the DuPont Circle Farmers Market is one of the largest in the city.

TRANSPORTATION:

The DuPont Circle Metro Station is just 2 blocks away, and bus lines are also convenient (Metrobuses and the DC Circulator). You won't need a car with the great access to public transit from this location!

If you do want to drive (whether for an hour's grocery store run, or a trip outside the city to Monticello or Gettysburg), consider registering online for Car2Go or Zipcar--flexible alternatives to traditional rental cars.

Biking? Capital Bikeshare makes bike rental a breeze.

REVIEW:

Stephanie – “It was fantastic to have this "home" for a week while we were in the capital on vacation. Easy walk to restaurants, Trader Joe's (!) and the Red Line Metro at DuPont Circle. We easily picked up a cab on 22nd when we needed one. The condo was clean and very easy to get to. It is located on quiet street and since it is in the middle of the embassy district, it's probably in one of the safest and most interesting neighborhoods in DC! Having the washer/dryer right outside the door was handy and we did do a load of our clothes. It's always nice to be able to pack light and wash out the miles of walking we did every day through museums and monuments. We really enjoyed this apartment much better than a hotel since there weren't people up and down the hall at all hours and knowing that no one would be coming into our room every day when we weren't there.”--March 2013

About Charlotte Perry

My business is LUXbnb, we offer short-stay properties in wonderful neighborhoods in Northwest Washington including those areas in high demand by visitors, i.e. DuPont Circle, Georgetown, Palisades and Capitol Hill. You can view some of our other studios and homes for stays from 4 nights up to 8 months; see HomeAway # 914007, 3495967, 3495973, 3495995, 3495973, 3496279, 3496282, 3496283 and 3496278 for details. Let us know your travel plans and we will find the best fit for your needs. Be generous and share the knowledge of LUXbnb, your source for short-stay rentals in Washington, with your friends, family and colleagues.

Our latest addition are vacation properties for Washingtonians. Take a few days away from the bustle of the city to explore our bucolic countryside little changed over the past 2 to 3 centuries. Visit wineries and orchards, significant Civil War battlefields and historic towns, hike the Apalachian Trail or follow in the footsteps of our founding fathers by visiting their homes. There is plenty to do that beckons you to leave the city for a weekend or a week.

A bit about me...I am a former Californian who, after 12 years in DC, is now an honorary Washington native. Being well traveled both domestically and internationally has given me a great appreciation for the enrichment contact with others brings to our experience. I am well-versed on the 'must-see' sights, monuments and museums of our culturally rich city, along with the unique experiences your find only in Washington. We share that insight with our guests in our property Welcome Guides which we send upon confirmation.

We very much enjoy hosting visitors to our Nation's Capital and ensuring that they are able to make the most of their visit.

Reviewer Comments:

This was an excellent apartment for me, a lone guest who didn't expect to do any cooking. It's compact, though, and the kitchen area especially so. Hosts were responsive and helpful. I was there for a few weeks so noticed a few things: snow wasn't cleared and turned to ice on the steps up to the house (v. treacherous); wifi was weak at times (perhaps shared with the building's other 3 apts.?); light bulbs needed changing in the apt. and at top of stairs; and I would have liked a full-size ironing board since the apt's only table is small and not convenient for the table-top model. Bottom line: Definitely recommend and would stay again. I really enjoyed my time there! Thanks!

We loved the apartment. The bed is small and the counter space was incredibly inadequate but we made it work. It was perfectly clean and in a nice neighborhood with a very good grocery close by. Would easily recommend to our friends.

Reviewer Comments:

The place was not as close to the metro as we had hoped but it was nice & clean. We had an issue with the TV when we got there but management was on it as soon as we text-ed them. We wished that we had one of the units with easy access to the patio. Otherwise, I would recommend this property. There was a grocery store really close by which was good. Just follow the alley beside the rehab place.

The property manager was very unhelpful.

The vacation rental was very clean.

I was very happy with the location.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

Reviewer Comments:

The apartment in the photos looks crisp and clean. In reality is decrepit. The kitchen has 9 inches of counter space and is ill equipped. Do not plan on cooking. From the construction toilet next door wafts the smell of urine. When I strongly complained I was called an extortionist, trying to stay for free, and threatened with legal action. No one came to check out my complaints. Actually I was trying to have a great vacation in beautiful Washington. Fail. That's what you get in this unregulated industry. No recourse. Never again. Beware.

Owner's Response: I personally was in the apartment assembling new furniture and taking photos for three hours immediately prior to Ava's arrival so I was very much aware of the excellent condition it was in. She had a long list of comments (perhaps more accurately described as false accusations) about the apartment and our delightful prior guests that were simply false.
