The Blue Heron is a very special vacation retreat..!! The high ceilings, spacious rooms, extensive porch and large windows effectively erase the line between inside and out. But, at the flick of a switch, air conditioning offers complete comfort as needed. The sunrises looking back over the Seven Mile Bridge toward Marathon are breath-taking. The house is comfortably furnished as shown in the pictures above. It has a very well equipped kitchen and enough bed/bathrooms to accommodate even a large extended family. Active families will appreciate thoughtful additions by their hosts such as kayaks, basketball, and volleyball. Children and adults alike will enjoy watching the local herd of deer grazing on the lawn. The pool is safe for even young children surrounded as it is by railings and gates. The nearby Winn Dixie grocery makes shopping quick and easy, but when you don’t feel like cooking, local restaurants are at hand. The almost total absence of mosquitoes during our stay was a welcome change from other places we’ve stayed. I can recommend this home without reservation.
