This converted church is indeed a special place. We see it as an adult oasis, a home away from home and a retreat for those needing a good break from city-life or the fast-paced work world. St. Alban’s is situated along a scenic country road just a couple of minutes from Annapolis Royal, in the heart of Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley. Our 2.5 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home has all the amenities, and more…including serenity, comfort and convenience!
The home, itself, boasts a gourmet kitchen, spa-like bathroom, private bedrooms and old world charm with modern conveniences and spacious living. St. Alban’s has been professionally decorated, by us, with the modern vacationer in mind. Eating in? Enjoy professional grade cookware and high-end appliances. Dining out? We will provide you with our own personal recommendations of local cuisine.
St. Alban’s pastoral setting blends perfectly with the natural beauty of the Annapolis Basin and the Lequille River. For the hiker or cyclist, there is much to explore. If you wish to spend a day “in town” there is lots to see and do in Annapolis Royal. Take in a sweeping view of the beautiful Annapolis Basin from the centre of Annapolis Royal at Fort Anne, Canada’s oldest national historic site. There are shops, historical walks, a beautiful waterfront, and much more. The Annapolis Valley is also home to some of the best and most interesting antique shops in Nova Scotia. Be sure to take Route 1 heading to Bridgetown and visit some of our favourite shops such as ‘The Green Barn’, ‘Treasures and Collectibles’ (hi to Norm) and especially ‘Summer House Antiques’ (tell Eric we sent you). As you can tell, there is no shortage of things to see and do during your stay at St. Alban’s Vacation Home. But if all you are looking for is time away to relax and unwind, then St. Alban’s is perfect.
We invite you to experience what we can only say is “the best decision we have ever made!

Our group of 5 (including two very small children) thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highlights included Rose's generous gifts of local apples, jam and bread; the beautiful fall leaves scattered across the property; the thoughtful details including condiments in fridge, aveda bath products, and wonderful selection of magazines; and of course the stunning beauty of the church and its renovations and modern touches. A truly stunning property!
And to top it all off... Baby Sadie learned to crawl across the church floor.
Many thanks and it will definitely be recommended to friends and family when they come to visit us in the future after our relocation to a Annapolis Royal.
We had always dreamed of staying at a renovated church and this was truly a dream come true! Everything was spotless and clean. The decor was lovely and design was a mix of old and new. The kitchen was gourmet with you all you need. We enjoyed dining at the huge pine table with a pew for seating. The main bathroom is inviting and we loved the showerhead. The fireplace was cozy with lots of chopped wood. Bed's were comfy and headboards were unique. There were books and magazines galore. Our favorite spot to sit was the loft where we would read and listen to the old records on an old stereo and reminisce! Rose was a delightful host who made us feel at home and welcomed us with homemade bread and the most delicious peach jam we had ever tasted....koodos to Rose! We would come back in a heartbeat and the four of us delighted in staying at your peaceful and glorious sanctuary in lovely Annapolis Royal with the craft show and absolutely beautiful gardens with views that take your breath away! Thank you so very much for the memory guys!
Sincerely, The Riesers and Bonns from Toronto
This property is flawless, and the area is a wonderful place to visit. We were so happy to have found such a unique and comfortable place to stay. The owners and caretakers are welcoming and helpful, and the house is an absolute delight. I would absolutely recommend this vacation rental to anyone interested in visiting the area.
This home was perfect in every way. If I could I would give it more than 5 stars. It is a beautiful home and completely equipped with everything you need. Fresh bread and home made jam along with fresh flowers were waiting for us. This is one of the nicest rentals we ever had and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
My husband and I cannot say enough good things about our experience at the Church. The owner, Christopher, was so helpful as was his caretaker. This part of Nova Scotia may be our favorite and staying at the Church sealed that perspective! We hope to come back again and would give it 10 stars if there were that many to check off!
The church is a fabulous place to stay. We loved its quirkiness and all the lovely little touches. The beds were very comfortable and our daughter especially liked the roof window in her bedroom. Rose was very helpful and the homemade bread and jam yummy. I appreciated the fresh flowers too.
The only downside was the heat that built up in the church during the day, but Rose provided plenty of fans which helped.
Beautiful and spacious. It was only 5 mins to Annapolis Royal and 30 mins to Digby. Favourite place to eat was Vickis.
