Photos and Description of the Harrisonburg vacation cabin rental
1 King Size Bed (loft/studio style), 1 bathroom, sleeps up to 6

Cute Rustic Cabin set in the mountains of Virginia.

We just bought this cabin in December of 2012 and have steadily been making improvements though the cabin was cute and unique to begin with. We just added a chimney and a beautiful stone hearth and a wood stove in the living room.

The front of the cabin is not as cute as it could be yet, but we will be making improvements here shortly to it as we are able to (since it has been booked during the weekdays which doesn't allow us to make any improvements, which is a good problem by the way). :) We believe the inside of the cabin is super cute already though and the setting is certainly beautiful with lots of hiking trails, biking, fishing and outdoor adventures to be had nearby.

Cliffside Cabin also has a nice size deck as well as a screened in porch (which will be completely redone in the next couple of months. The screen is rather old and somewhat dirty currently).

There is a king size bed in the bedroom. The floor plan is open (loft/studio style), but there is a curtain that can be closed in the bedroom for privacy if multiple people are staying. There is also a cute loft with sleeping for older kids, teenagers or the fun loving adult that has one full and two twin size mattresses.

Pets are welcome but we do require a Pet Cleaning Fee.

Cliffside Cabin is a great place to see the stars. On clear nights, you can see thousands of stars overhead. It is a beautiful sight. Also during the spring and summer months, you can see humming birds everywhere. We place feeders off the front porch of the house and have personally seen upwards of 20 birds at one time at our cabins here in Rawley Springs.

Checking is 4:00 pm and checkout is 11 am.

About Katie & Steven Robert Jones

We moved here from Texas so that I could complete my college degree at Bridgewater College and my wife is full time teacher. We have one daughter, Anna Kate, who is three and second daughter Abigail was just born this January. We also have 8 rescue dogs and 3 cats who love to hike with us on all the trails and swim in the two rivers within walking distance of the house.

Katie & Steven Robert Jones purchased this cabin in 2012
Why Katie & Steven Robert Jones chose Harrisonburg

We bought this property because it is close to our 3 other vacation properties. We really like this cabin because it has a lot of rustic charm. It is very cozy and we love the loft, the screen porch and deck. The mountain views are great here in Winter when the leaves are gone. The Spring brings all sorts of birds including lots of Hummingbirds.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin has a cute loft. There is a screened in porch with mountain views in the Winter when the leaves are gone across the side and front of the cabin.

i woud give it 5 but i drove a car not that safe for where the location of the cabin is, but once i got there its awesome. The owners are great people. I would go back there with more time since we stayed only one night, its a wonderful way to get away from the world.

Very Pleasant Stay at Cliffside Cabin

Submitted: February 1, 2013 Stayed: January 2013
We really enjoyed our stay at Cliffside cabin and were very impressed with the service. The owners were very kind and accommodating -- even gave us free eggs from their own chickens! We really enjoyed the simplicity and quaint atmosphere; very comfortable and spacious. We're especially looking forward to the renovations the owners are planning and definitely plan to come back to Cliffside, and even try their other cabin, Dry River.

Christmas Trip stays in the "Red Cabin"

Christmas Trip stays in the "Red Cabin"

Submitted: January 16, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
My puppy-dog Linus and I stayed at the Red Cabin for 2 nights on our way home for Christmas, and for one night on our way back south.

The cabin is "rustic" with exposed beams and uneven wooden floors, but where it really matters (kitchen, bathroom and bed) it is first class all the way. Furniture included several sofas and a small wooden table with 4 wooden chairs. (I think if you have more than 2 people you would want to bring in the larger round table from the porch.) This cabin is great if you have a bunch of kids (of any age) that are OK with throwing down air mattresses and sleeping bags (BYO) in the large loft. Amenities included a flat screen TV with cable and WiFi.

Linus and I had a great time exploring the area and meeting a bunch of friendly people and dogs during our 3 days there. We hiked all around the community and upstream along the creek to an area of sheer granite cliffs with rectangular boulders the size of houses. Awesome! WE'LL BE BACK!

We had a great time! The owners met us at a certain point and led us up to our cabin. They were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a beautiful spot and furnished very well. We loved being able to bring our dog and our family. It wasn't cramped at all. The kitchen was fully furnished and we had a washer and dryer in our unit which was wonderful! The unit also had internet which we valued. We will definately check with this cabin again when we head to VA to visit. It was perfect for us! Thanks! Great memories!!!
