UPDATED AND COMFORTABLE COUNTRY HOME IN SOUTHEASTERN VT

Brattleboro House Rental Photos and Description

* Two Bedroom House In Private Setting For Inside And Outdoor Enjoyment

Set in the Vermont countryside near Brattleboro this recently updated two bedroom one-story country home sleeps four comfortably (up to six people with queen sized sofa sleeper with Air Dream Mattress). It sports an open concept floor plan that gives it an airy feeling, all new stainless steel kitchen appliances, a spacious south facing deck for dining and an outdoor barbecue, screened-in-porch, garage and a 30” fire pit to gather around when the day is done. It features new large windows throughout, allowing wonderful light to fill the rooms while you stay warm and cozy inside no matter what the weather is like.

Breathe in the fresh air as you stand from the deck that offers a restful view of a wooded glade that nestles around the hollow below. Don’t be surprised if from this post you spot a deer or two, or perhaps a fox. On those warm summer days lie back and relax in the hammock, and should the temperature begin to soar head over to the nearest swim hole by the covered bridge at the Green River Village timber and stone dam for a refreshing dip. More of our personal recommendations are listed below.

Having lived in the main house on this property for over 30 years, my wife, Vicki, and I now reside on Cape Cod. This property was developed as our home and it reflects the care and thought that we put into it over the years.

Paul Simons purchased this house in 1985

Delightful stay

  • 5 of 5
My friends and I had a wonderful time in Mr. Simon's lovely home. It is an idyllic little country getaway. It was very well kept, clean, and modern. Craig, the caretaker of the home, deserves special kudos. He was so polite and attentive throughout our entire stay. We felt very welcomed and I would definitely rent from Mr. Simon again. In addition, the home is only a 10-15 minute drive from Brattleboro and all of its attractions. By the end of the first day we were well acquainted with the roads and were easily able to navigate the area.

Brattleboro House: Perfect Spot for Small Weddings

  • 5 of 5
The Brattleboro house is nested in the hills of Vermont and provides sweeping views of the country side. The main house has astounding architectural and artistic details that provide a cultured backdrop to the views. The house is really integrated to the natural surroundings in a tasteful way and done without sacrificing an ounce of luxury. It's the perfect place for a small wedding, family gathering or party. The kitchen and patio area are large enough to allow food preparation for around 40 or so guests. And the grounds and property are immaculate. The owner is very responsive and willing to work with you to help make your stay memorable and accommodating. The property management is nearby and also punctual if assistance is needed immediately. It's reasonably priced and well worth a visit if you are looking for an intimate weekend with friends and family.

Great spot!

  • 5 of 5
Property was as-advertised - a relaxing out-of-the-way spot with easy access to downtown Brattleboro. Stayed a weekend with a few friends and we were able to get out to some nice fishing spots during the day and go into town at night. Very clean and well maintaned, caretaker was available and made sure we were all set with everything.

Great Stay

It was easy to work with Paul and the caretaker of the property, Craig. They were very responsive to any concerns, and our family felt very welcomed. The property itself is on a beautiful piece of land, and the house was comfortable, convenient to activities, and clean. We would highly recommend this rental!

The house was perfect. It had enough room to be comfortable with even a large group of people. I would rent this house again for another trip. Everything needed in the house was readily available.

Owner's Response: Luis's group was the maximum size (6) for this house and it worked out very well for them. We were happy to hear that they enjoyed themselves and that the accommodations provided met their expectations. These folks would be welcomed back anytime.

Cozy, private setting with all the comforts

  • 5 of 5
This lovely cottage was exactly as described and looked just like the photos. The open floor plan made it feel quite spacious and the large windows allowed the sun to pour into every common room. It was extremely clean, decorated comfortably, and thoughtfully well stocked with everything a vacationer might need, including plenty of fluffy bath towels. The bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of closet space and the bathroom was modern and well-appointed. Both Paul, the owner, and Craig, the caretaker, were pleasant and quick to respond to any and all questions and needs. The location was roughly 15 minutes from downtown Brattleboro but extremely private and very quiet. We dined locally, went snowshoeing nearby, and found plenty of shops to browse. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for some time away from the city to relax and take in the local flavor while enjoying all the comforts of home.

Other Area Recommendations:

* Visit local artist studios, galleries, antique shops and sugar houses where pure maple syrup is made. Brattleboro, which was voted among America's top 100 artist communities, hosts Gallery Walk the first Friday evening of every month.

* Take a scenic drive highlighted by old covered-bridges and the white church steeples of yesteryear, babbling brooks and stone bottomed rivers with unmatched foliage colors in Autumn. During the summer months cool off with a dip at the Green River Village timber and stone dam by the covered bridge.

* A perfect way to experience the area’s natural beauty and local folklore is to reserve time to visit Madame Sherri’s Forest. Learn about this local legend from the Ziegfeld era and explore the grounds on footpaths leading to the castle ruins and around the very serene Indian Pond.

* The Brattleboro Area Farmers' Market is held Saturdays, May-Oct. Enjoy this folksy experience where area farmers, crafters and food vendors converge.

* An abundance of easy to moderate hiking is at hand. A climb to the top of nearby Mt. Wantastiquet is moderately difficult and will reward you with gorgeous panoramic views of Brattleboro and surrounds. Chesterfield Gorge with its waterfalls is another popular attraction that is less physically demanding.

* Arrange a wine tour or tasting at one of the area’s wineries located in nearby Jacksonville or Putney, VT.

* Family fun at Six Flags Amusement and Water Park in Agawam, MA is an hour and fifteen minutes away.
