3 queen beds, 2 1/2 baths, spectacular river view, gas fireplace & home theatre
Our 2-story home is situated at the mouth of the Columbia River, with historic Astoria to the east and Ft Stevens State Park just to the west. This is our family's frequent escape, well suited to maximize comfort, relaxation, and rejuvenation while having easy access to the scenic beauties of the North Coast, truly Pacific Wonderland!
The cathedral ceiling living room has full views of the Columbia River estuary which spans four miles across to Washington's Long Beach Peninsula. The Columbia River's narrow shipping channel is situated immediately in front of the house offering an ongoing parade of maritime traffic; enjoyable from the front yard Adirondack chairs, or from the cozy comfort of our living room sofa.
A 2-story living room opens up to kitchen and dining areas with panoramic views of the Columbia River. A 65-inch LED SmartTV sits above a gas fireplace and flanks the large living room window. Entertainment options include Home Theater with HD satellite TV including premium channels, Wi-Fi internet , Sony Blu-ray DVD with Netflix, and AirPlay to wirelessly stream your music.
A well stocked kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances and cooking implements, makes staying in and cooking a pleasure. A powder room is conveniently situated off the main living room area.
Upstairs are three tastefully decorated bedrooms each with a comfortable queen bed and TV. Master bedroom en suite has a walk in closet, comfortable lounge chair and commanding views. In addition to the three bedrooms, there is a double fold-out bed with memory foam in the living rooms sectional sofa.
The home is stocked with some of our favorite books, cookbooks, and movies; feel free to enjoy while relaxing, or planning day trips up and down the coast.
Ron works and travels for Delta Air Lines and appreciates the need to getaway with family and loved ones to rejuvenate. Shannon works in one of Portland's most stylish beauty salons.

Guestbook comments from the owner
The family and I really enjoyed staying at your place in Hammond. We found things to be well kept, in good condition, and in proper order. I really enjoyed the location as it is only three miles from Warrenton Marina and very near where we like to fish. Fishing was excellent, again this year. We hope to reserve for a longer stay for next year. Thanks for running a first class operation.
Ideally located property, with unobstructed views of the Columbia river. The owners have very tastefully decorated, with beach and historical elements, without going overboard. This was the most comfortable and well furnished VRBO we have stayed in yet. The Adirondack chairs in the front yard were our havens in the evening (we were lucky enough to have fantastic weather). Normally we bring our own cookware to VRBOs since most rentals are stocked with the owners cast offs, but this home seemed to have been decorated and furnished for the owners comfort. Everything you are likely to need will be there.
Wonderful stay at a wonderful house. We so much enjoyed our stay in Hammond. The house is well situated for exploring Astoria, Fort Stevens and the northern coast . The views from the house are fantastic. Two eagles frequently perched on the fir tree in the front of the house. So nice to find an upscale property that welcomes dogs. The house is well taken care of and all necessities are provided.Thank-you so much for sharing your lovely home.
It was a wonderful home away from home! We loved the location as we explored the coast from Astoria down to Tillamook. Especially enjoyed Fort Stevens beaches and hiking trails just five minutes away! We really enjoyed the openness of the floor plan where all eight if us could gather for family fun! Loved the comings and goings on the river with the large barges, ships and tugboats. Very comfortable beds with beach themed decor. Would have appreciated a notebook with recommendations of sights to see, places to eat but found what we needed on the internet. Also would have appreciated notebook on general house guidelines and instructions such as garbage day, TV operating instructions, grill use and utensils etc. We had a wonderful family time here and would highly recommend it to others whether you want a restful break or a vacation with lots of activity.

Owner's Response: Thanks again for choosing to stay at our vacation home, and your very positive review and feedback! Sorry to hear that you did not find the TV Instruction guide in the coffe table or the guest book binder on the sideboard, where they should be. We'll be sure to let future guests know exactly where to find these items and for the cleaning staff to know where they should be returned to. We certainly look forward to welcoming you all back for another Oregon Coast adventure. Thanks again for your timely feedback and review.
Three couples stayed in the house and brought a couple of our dogs. The home was wonderful! The view of the river and the ships going by was amazing. We also saw deer playing in the yard, Bald Eagles, and a couple of seals. It is so private and quiet!
The house itself was very comfortable (great beds) and had everything we needed. When we did come in from enjoying the outdoor spaces, it was fun to watch a movie on the large TV.
Quiet, clean, comfortable, amazing views and an owner who was wonderful to work with. Thank you for sharing your home - we'll definitely be back!
