Photos and Description of the Rupert vacation farmhouse rental
Home Of The Public TV Show Series Cook's Country From America's Test Kitchen

Originally part of a large dairy farm, this 200-year-old farmhouse (known locally as the Carver house) was completely renovated in 2007. The property includes a large horse barn, a dairy barn, an antique brick smokehouse, and a milk house. The house is located near Manchester, Vermont in a small, classic New England village. The farmhouse is currently used to film the Cook’s Country public television show and is also available for rent.

The kitchen – the same kitchen featured on the television show – is complete with DCS ranges and ovens, Kohler sinks and fixtures, and has a wonderful view out back of the barns and meadows. The dining room is capable of accommodating at least a dozen guests, the living room has a working fireplace, and there is a mud room, wraparound & screened-in porches, and a brick patio off the back.

The home is chock-full of antiques. It comfortably sleeps 10, in 4 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and 2 of the bedrooms include twin beds. There are 2 1/2 baths -- both full baths feature beautiful tiled showers and one includes a separate bear-claw tub. There is also a full laundry in basement (washer & dryer).

Idyllic

My wife and I, along with three other couples rented this absolutely charming home for a weekend in early April. I can't recommend it enough. Just book it. The home is recently restored and in impeccable condition. Its clean - really clean and has a lovely layout upstairs and downstairs. The house has a real chef's kitchen stocked full with high quality cookware and a stove and over to drool over....not to mention a double dishwasher! We loved it.

The area is charming and convenient to Dorset and Manchester and plenty of local farms and sugar shacks. We bought freshly made syrup at the Lurie's on Route 153 and fresh eggs and beef on Route 30 heading in Dorset. We shopped in Manchester and dined in Dorset.

Great weekend - great deal.

A perfect country home in a perfect country town

July 4th week 2010 - a great time was had by all - perfectly restored country farmhouse - gourmet cook's kitchen (not kidding) - hardwood floors and details abound - L shaped rocking chair front porch to watch the goings on in Rupert, VT - close to everything in Salem, NY and Manchester, VT - and everything in between - the pictures do not do it justice - 4 huge bedrooms and beautifully new baths with marble sinks and waterworks (or similar) hardware - guest powder room downstairs - huge dining room from the open kitchen - huge sun porch that is screened with views onto the big backyard - amazing cornfield to mountain views...a special place with all the comforts...
