4 Bedroom, 3 Bath, Cottage with Lovely Views from every room

This lakefront cottage is mostly furnished with rustic Old Hickory and Rittenhouse furnishings.The large family room with cobblestone fireplace has windows all across the front for great lake views and boat watching. The 6' round dining table seats 8. The Kitchen looks like the original 1920s but works like a modern kitchen with a Viking gas range, additional electric undercounter oven, dishwasher, concealed microwave oven, and large french door refrigerator. The first floor bath has a shower and also contains the washer and dryer in built in cabinets.A second door in the bath leads to the first floor bedroom with a full size bed. Also on the first floor is the TV room with comfortable seating for 4-5 people. The three season screen porch with removable windows has a gas fireplace for those chily spring and fall evenings.

Upstairs are 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a beautiful Old Hickory bed with gorgeous views of the lights of the town of Cedarville across the bay. This bedroom has its own bath with a large shower unit. The second bedroom has queen log bunk beds. The third bedroom has a queen log bed. The second and third bedrooms share a bath with a shower/bathtub unit.

The spacious decks and docks offer plenty of seating for relaxing and watching the boats going by. Speaking of boats, you are welcome to bring your boat. We have plenty of space at our dock to accommodate your boat(s).

About Bob or Beth Christians (Owner)

Bob and Beth Christians grew up in Grand Rapids and moved to the Lansing area when they were married. We lived in Haslett the next 30 years while we built our greenhouse business. We moved to Harbor Springs in 2003 when we bought Renolda Greenhouse. This move made it much easier for us to continue the restoration/remodel/expansion of the cottage and guest cabin and boathouse in Cedarville in our spare time. We still enjoy most weekends in Cedarville except for busy months at the business. Now our children and their families enjoy coming 'up north' as much as we have all our lives. As their lives get busier they appreciate the slower, more relaxed atmosphere we enjoy in Cedarville with friends and family.

The Les Cheneaux area is famous for its antique wooden boats and the unique boathouses that house them. The view from our cottage and docks is truly lovely as we have several of the most painted and photographed boathouses just across the channel from us.

What makes this cottage unique

For the early risers you will often be rewarded with a gorgeous sunrise coming up over Lasalle Island. If you are lucky enough to be here during the full moon you will see a most memorable sight of the moon rising over the island and its light shimmering on the lake.

Cedarville is in the center of the Les Cheneaux Islands area, a chain of 36 beautiful wooded islands located along the northern shore of Lake Huron about 20 miles northeast of Mackinac Island. It is truly a boating paradise with miles of protected bays and channels and coves to explore. The area is home to hundreds of antique and classic wooden boats and the beautiful and interesting boathouses in which these classic beauties live. Among the many day trips possible from this home base in Cedarville are Mackinac Island, Tahquanemon Falls, Soo locks, Pictured Rocks, and Drummond Island.

WHEN NOTHING BUT THE BEST WILL DO

THIS PROPERTY IS EVERYTHING AND MORE THAT ONE COULD EVER IMAGINE OR WANT FOR. A TRUE LABOR OF LOVE. MY HUSBAND AND I RENTED THE SMALLER COTTAGE LAST YEAR AND ABSOLUTLEY FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. THIS YEAR, WE RENTED THE LARGER COTTAGE WITH FRIENDS TO CELEBRATE MY 50TH BIRTHDAY AND WE ALL HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. IN FACT, THE OWNERS BOB AND BETH SURPRISED US ALL BY LEAVING ME A GORGEOUS SPRING BOQUET OF FLOWERS AND A CARD FOR MY BIRTHDAY. THAT'S JUST A SMALL PORTION OF THEIR KINDNESS AND GENEROSITY. ONCE YOU STEP INTO THIS LOVELY RESTORED HOME THAT THEY CLEARLY PUT THEIR HEARTS INTO, YOU THEN GET A TRUE SENSE OF JUST HOW SPECIAL THESE PEOPLE ARE. THIS HOME IS SO BEAUTIFUL WITH COUNTLESS ANTIQUES TO ENJOY EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK THAT YOU FIND YOURSELF CHOOSING TO STAY IN RATHER THAN GO OUT. YOU TRULY WANT FOR NOTHING. OH... AND LET'S NOT FORGET THE LARGE DECK AND BOATHOUSE AND THE VIEW AND THE SUNRISE AND THE KAYAKS, AND THREE BATHROOMS...YES, I SAID THREE BATHROOMS, AND, AND, AND THE LIST GOES ON. THE BEST PART OF ALL WAS THAT WE WERE ABLE TO TRAVEL WITH OUR DOGS. NOT MANY OF THE NICER RENTAL PROPERTIES OUT THERE ALLOW FOR PETS. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE TRAVELING WITH THEIR PET ALSO BRING ALONG THEIR KENNEL AS WE DID TO KEEP THEM IN SAFELY WHEN YOU DO DECIDE TO STEP OUT FOR THE DAY OR EVENING AS YOU WOULD NOT WANT TO RISK ANY DAMAGE BEING DONE TO THIS EXQUISITE HOME. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COTTAGE TO ANYONE SEEKING A RELAXING AND MEMORABLE VACATION DESTINATION.
