Photos and Description of the Maggie Valley vacation farmhouse rental
13 acre private mountain retreat close to town and activities.

The 1935 farmhouse has been restored to it's former glory, even down to the original canning shed! It has two bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with two twins that can be converted to a king). The comfy beds have ultra-soft linens and we provide plush towels and robes. The kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans, dishware, etc. The living room is equipped with plenty of seating, cable TV and DVR, radio/CD player and wireless internet. There is a wonderful hot tub to soothe your sore muscles after a day spent hiking our glorious mountains. The mountain view from the front porch is breathtaking, so enjoy a glass of wine or a cold beverage while enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature. From your bed in the master bedroom, you can watch the sunrise and hear the birds as they start their day. Let the farmhouse restore your spirit.

About Judy Howell

John and Judy both worked for the US Marshals Service, and met in 2007. In 2012 they married, and enjoyed traveling to the Blue Ridge/ Smoky Mountain area whenever they could. They fell in love with the Waynesville/Asheville area, and knew they had to retire there. They searched the area for property to buy, and as soon as they drove up the driveway of this property, they knew it was the one.

Judy Howell purchased this farmhouse in 2012
Why Judy Howell chose Maggie Valley

This property is so unique. It was an old farm and in the same family until early 2000. The next owners bought it and loved it, but recently wanted to sell to retire and do some traveling. John and Judy knew this property was so perfect, and everything they had been searching for. It's on 13 acres, surrounded by meadows and forests, with spectacular mountain views. You will feel like you are isolated in nature, but are in fact minutes away from towns, shopping and activities. It is, truly, the best of both worlds. John and Judy offer this property with the hope that it will offer enjoyment, renewal, and relaxation to guests.

What makes this farmhouse unique

From the front porch of the farm house, you can sit in the rocking chairs with a glass of wine or hot cup of cocoa, and gaze at the mist in the meadows or the spectacular views of the mountains. Listen to the sounds of nature and watch the fireflies dance in the evening. You will forget how hectic life can be when everything here is so tranquil. You can watch the sunrise from the master bedroom and you listen to the birds call to one another. The kitchen was completely renovated, but still stays in the style of the 1950's; it's charm and hominess is to be enjoyed by your family and friends. The two bedrooms are comfy, outfitted in soft bed linens. After a day spent hiking or shopping, you will look forward to snuggling up in your nest. The den houses games and cards, but has a desk and plenty of outlets for your computer and other electronic devices. The farmhouse has cable TV and wireless internet for times when you want to 'plug back in'. You will love staying here; it's like going to your grandma's when you were little. There are streams on the property, as well as an old stone canning shed and gardening shed. The property will delight you and renew your spirit.
