At the web site for Dolphin Pass you will find additional pictures of Sandpiper Cottage and the dock and also pictures of the Blue Heron Cottage. Blue Heron cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and sleeps six.
Seclusion and serenity on ten acres of tall pines and moss draped live oaks on the Turtle River.
Sandpiper cottage is a comfortable 4 bedroom home, with a full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms and 1 half bath, a dining room, living room/parlor, family room, laundry room, and screened in patio.
The 2 bedrooms on the first floor are separated by a nautically themed full bath. Each of the 1st floor bedrooms has a comfortable queen size bed to fully support deep and restful sleep, and plenty of roomy closet space. One of the bedrooms has a water view. The other bedroom has a walk in closet and a view of the front lawn.
The fully equipped step saving kitchen has a dishwasher, a side by side refrigerator/freezer with ice cube maker, an electric Jen-Air stove top, a wall oven, a combination microwave-convection oven, a breakfast bar with four stools and a water view. Just off the kitchen is a half bath and a good sized laundry room with washer and dryer.
The large screened in patio is where you will find a white wicker chair and table set, along with a couple of adirondack chairs. This is a peaceful spot to read a good book, play a game of cards or relax with a tall glass of iced tea while enjoying the scenic water view.
When the time comes to serve up the daily catch, the dining room right next to the kitchen seats eight comfortably.
The living room/parlor is a cozy spot for a good talk or a fun board game set up on the coffee table.
The family room is next to the kitchen. In this spacious room, you will find the fireplace, the television, built in bookshelves with a selection of paperback books, a great history book about the area during the second World War, called The Marshes of Glynn County, and a collection of brochures covering area attractions.
Up on the second floor are two bedrooms and a bathroom.
Both bedrooms have two twin beds. The twin beds can be converted so that each bedroom has a king size bed. Both bedrooms have spectacular views to the river, two closets and one of the bedrooms has a small balcony. The bathroom on this floor has a large shower and also a great water view.
Outdoors, on the waterside of the house, is a pergola with wisteria, trumpet vine and jasmine. A feast of color and scents and shade with a view to the dock and river.
A walk down the dock over the marsh and out to the eight slips is always a memory making experience, especially when dolphins are swimming by. Sunrises and sunsets are magical and there is almost always a cooling breeze out on the dock.
Fish or set crab pots right from the dock. If you bring your boat, you will have plenty of space at the dock. (There is a boat landing about a mile from the house).
We have another cottage available on the property with 3 bedrooms that sleeps 6. Please call for details and/or click on the link below to dolphin-pass.

My husband and I purchased this beautiful piece of property in 2004. At the time my husband was looking for a less hurricane prone area to keep our boat in the winter months. Our dream was divide the 12 acres into home lots and build a dock so that each homeowner would have a dock slip. The dock was completed in 2008.
The Owner purchased this house in 2004
We love the peace and quiet. Our favorite thing to do is hang out on the dock and watch for dolphins. We love being here in March when the azaleas are blooming and in April when the wisteria blooms. Starting in May the pergola is covered with trumpet vine blossoms and jasmine.
This property is amazing! We stayed at the Blue Heron Cottage for Memorial Day weekend and had a great, relaxing time. There are three bedrooms with two bathrooms, on two levels. There is a huge deck off the house facing the Turtle river and it is so peaceful to sit out there, but, it's even greater to sit on the fantastic dock! The dock is breathtaking and really one of the greatest places in Georgia to sit. You can fish or read or chat or watch the wildlife or take sunrise pictures, the list goes on! We saw a total of 9 dolphins over this three day weekend! It truly is dolphin pass. There is a great amount of space in the yard to throw the frisbee or play a little softball too. We grilled out with the grill provided and used the washer/dryer to clean our beach towels :) The kitchen is basically stocked with whatever you could want to use (pots, pans, dishes, glasses, coffee cups, coffee pot, colander, etc.) Anyone could have a great vacation here, young or old. It is so close to St. Simon's Island and Jekyll Island but such a great place to have all to yourself. Do yourself a favor and pick this for your next retreat :) I know I'll be back!
A group of eight college friends stayed at Sandpiper Cottage in April for our yearly "gathering". The accommodations suited all our needs - bedrooms on both floors, large den, dining table that seated us comfortably and kitchen facilities that gave us "elbow room" for meal preparation. What we enjoyed most and where we spent a great deal of time was the fabulous dock! We crabbed from it picnicked on it, spent lots of time chatting on it and were lucky enought to not have to share it with the "no seeums". We did some sightseeing in the area but all agreed that the Sandpiper Cottage was the ideal home base, with the emphasis on "home".
Twenty minutes to Jekyll Island, twenty-five minutes to St. Simon's Island. On Jekyll Island, Sea turtle rescue center, water theme park, miniature golf, beaches, bike rental.
Several golf courses in the area.
