Whether on a family getaway or a business trip, our historical house is the perfect place to call your home away from home. Built in 1958 on a large, beautifully landscaped lot, the home retains its vintage charm while providing the modern conveniences you’ve grown accustomed to. Located between O’Hare Airport and Downtown Chicago, a short walk from the CTA Harlem ‘L’ stop and the Norwood Park Metra station, you’re in the ideal location for getting around town. Close enough to the action, but nestled away in a more private and secure corner of the city.

Five bedrooms, all with queen sized beds, comfortably sleep up to ten. Additionally, there is a small bedroom off the master suite with a pack n’ play and a full sized bed. A full sized futon is available in one of the bedrooms and a pullout sofa in the living room bed sleeps an additional two. All three of the large bathrooms include both bath and shower. The master suite has a two-person Jacuzzi tub. We provide a fully equipped kitchen which includes coffeemaker, toaster and kitchen appliances mean you can always eat-in if desired—grill out on the deck! The dining area is great for a lovely family dinner before you retire to the lush couches in either the entranceway or living room to play games, watch movies and socialize.

With plenty of restaurants and shops just a short drive away, you don’t have to look far and wide for conveniences, including a grocery store. The neighborhood has kept its charm and traditional appeal throughout the years. Surrounded by parks and playgrounds, there’s easy entertainment for families in a safe location. Feel free to walk about the neighborhood without care; it is one of the safest parts of Chicago.

All amenities are included; plenty of towels, linens, pillows, blankets, soaps, laundry and dish detergent, cookware, flatware.

Come relax in your own private getaway. More than enough room for every member of your party to have personal space while still warm, inviting and comfortable so that you can all enjoy the home together.

About Matt Peterson

This has been our Family house since 1978. It started as a typical brick bungalow with just two bedrooms and one bathroom. In 2000, our home underwent a major reconstruction which completely rearranged the layout, giving it an open floor plan. The 'Circle' is a close knit neighborhood and just about all of the neighbors have been there as long as we have.

We have been renting the house on a vacation rental basis since 2010 and its been a great experience. We have met many nice and interesting people.

The Beginning of a Christmas Tradition

After staying in this well appointed family home, you will never want to stay in a hotel or motel again. We can validate everything that was said in the previous reviews. It was a pleasure to hold a Christmas Day family reunion here. It is centrally located and handy to expressways so the gathering of the Clan was easy. Everyone agreed that we should plan to have our holiday celebration here again next Christmas.

Our family group of 8 adults and an infant spent a very enjoyable long weekend in this comfortable home. The place was clean and well equipped, just as it was described. The beds were very comfortable, linens plentiful and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location is great with grocery stores close by, plenty of restaurant and take out options in the neighborhood and easy access to the L. I would highly recommend this property to any group looking for a comfortable place to spend time together with easy access to everything Chicago has to offer.

A winner of a house!

My extended family came to stay at this house when we went to Chicago for my grandson's baptism. The house is very roomy, well appointed, neat and inviting, and in a nicely maintained, quiet neighborhood. Another review mentioned airplane noise, since it is in the O'Hare area, but it was not an issue for us at all. The house is about 5 blocks from the Harlem Street "L" station. The beds and bedding were comfortable in this 5.5 bedroom home. The owner was very accomodating to our needs, and responded quickly to any questions. We brought in some Kleenex and toilet tissue, since the supply was low, but everything else was well supplied -- towels, pillows, linens, soap, dishwashing detergent, plus all kitchenware -- cookware, dishes, utensils, coffeemaker, toaster, etc. I would recommend this home to anyone who needs lots of space at a reasonable price.

Beautiful home and street. Lots of room, very clean, and beds were comfortable. Laundry room on second floor was nice. Access to the Kennedy was easy and not a bad drive downtown. One of our guys loves the burgers at Kumas on Belmont. Food was great, very casual atmosphere, great service (but you have to like heavy metal music). It was only a 10-15 minute ride from the house. Our group was in Chicago for business and didn't spend alot of time "relaxing", but this home would be great for group of family and friends to gather and enjoy the city and suburbs. Some air traffice to O'Hare but not too bad.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
