The neighborhood was built between 1880 and 1914. for early (silent film) movie stars, bankers and businessmen. Now, the film industry uses the neighborhood and its homes as sites of numerous films. (including my home- I found my house from a Maxwell coffee commercial))
Very safe, beautiful, historic neighborhood, shopping nearby including restaurants, bars, coffee shops.
We are an easy walk to restaurants, grocery, and one of the newest hippist neighborhoods 'Cortelyou Rd', and Ave. J in Brooklyn!

HI! When I am not running my business, I am a projects guy- I love fixing up my vacation home rentals in Key Largo Florida.
The renovation team consists of us- fun-loving couple that are passionate about life, 2 adorable cats, living with us in Key Largo, a black lab that travels everywhere with Giana.
We have hosted guests from all over the world in our Brooklyn, NY home since 1992 and now in Key Largo Florida.
We love kayaking & fishing all through the waters of Key Largo and Jamaica Bay in Brooklyn, biking along the bike paths of Key Largo, or Prospect Park, Brooklyn, snorkeling at John Pennecamp State Park and going to Brooklyn Academy of Music or Lincoln Center.
We love traveling, and with that comes learning languages - we speak a little German and Italian and speak Hebrew fluently.
We are involved in many projects where we can spread compassion and generate good. They tend to mesh and outgrow from our interests and projects.
We are involved in the Arts- both creating and supporting. I play accordian and Giana, the piano. We both love to cook, but not alone- when using fresh ingredients, anything goes:)
What's it like having us as hosts? First, we do this because we enjoy it- meeting new people, making people happy and enjoying the great things our two towns have to share. We most of the time will meet you at the door, hot coffee, ice water or beer/wine to share.
We are flexible to what you need in your stay with us- help with shows, a desk for your room, hanging out with us or wanting your privacy.
Our places have plenty of space, communal and private, porches, gardens, indoor kitchens and outdoor BBQs.
We both enjoy meeting new people and helping with making our places a good retreat. Giana had worked in the health care field and now her 'patients' are renovating our places and decorating! We are always doing something-
Giana Shiloh purchased this house in 1992
I feel in love with this home. I actually saw the same home in a coffee commercial 12 years before purchasing and promised I'd have a house like that one! I didn't know until closing it was the same home.
The location is great, easy to the city, to the park, beautiful for walking, historic, cooler in the summer with all the trees! and quiet for sleeping. Yes, EASY subway to Manhattan; enjoy the hustle and bustle, the lights of Broadway and come home to peace, a cup of tea, lovely Victorian details, hardwood floors, elegant bathroom for a soak in the claw foot tub and quiet for sleep!
My home is spacious, elegant, and has a wonderful happy history of hosting lots of folks through the years. She has a porch swing, back yard, deck. Great bathrooms including bidets and clawfoot tubs. The hallway fixture is original to the home, (1909). Lots of space, kitchen, Netflix movies on a large screen, good quality beds.
IT is a short walk to the subway, and a pretty on at that. Short ride to the city, Q line is one of the best, and goes to everything!
Our historic neighborhood itself is a must see. The houses are Queen Anne, Colonial, California Bungolow with wide sweeping porches, turrets and wonderful colors in a park setting.
Cortelyou Rd is full of restaurants, bars, music, coffee shops and bagel shops.
We are close to Prospect Park too. Olmstead, whom designed Central Park in Manhattan, felt his crowning achievement was our Prospect Park. There is always something going on in the park as well as serene walkways and wooded paths.
On the other side of the Park is the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Library and the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.
2 blocks from my home is Brooklyn College. Our subway, the Q or B line, will take you into the city or straight to Coney Island and the beach.
