About Virginia Smith
We are 4th generation family members who have been coming to Silver Bay every summer over the course of our lives.
Virginia Smith purchased this cottage in 2002
Why Virginia Smith chose Hague
Lake George is a special place. Our family has a family summer home nearby where the family has been vacationing for 5 generations. The cottage itself has been a summer home for several families over the years. It is charming with a lot of historic character--very private and sheltered with views on all 3 sides.
What makes this cottage unique
Silver Bay is located within the northern third of the Lake, uniquely situated in this beautiful vacation land of the Adirondacks. It is part of the Adirondack Park, a national recreation area, with much of its land protected and zoned 'forever wild.'The water is so clean that it is our drinking water. Every water sport is practiced on the Lake with swimming, sailing, boating, waterskiing the favorites. Most of the nearby mountains have hiking trails, and running and bicycling are prevalent. Silver Bay Association, in walking distance, offers a multitude of activities for young and old alike. The little hamlet of Hague nearby has a restaurant, an art gallery, a general store and several gift and collectibles shops, as well as a community center that sports lectures, yoga, town meetings and a local museum.
