Ban Ton Mai is a gated boutique development of twelve two-story townhouses. Our home is set in lushly landscaped gardens and framed by gracious travellers palms. The open plan living area is on the ground floor, with the lounge leading onto a patio overlooking the swimming pool. The European kitchen is fully fitted and is a pleasure to cook in. A powder room is located off the living room. Both bedrooms are en suite and on the second floor, with the front bedroom having a secluded balcony and outdoor furniture perfect for curling up with a book or communing with nature. The swimming pool is shared with the other owners of the project and has both chaise longues and a covered sala for entertaining. Resident caretakers on site look after the gardens and ensure privacy and security.
We are Canadians living in Abu Dhabi, and we purchased our place in Koh Samui as a home away from home. We love our holiday stays there, and after having kept Ban Ton Mai to ourselves for several years, are now ready to let others share in its pleasure.

We first visited Koh Samui over twenty years ago, and made frequent visits back, lured by the scenic beauty of the island and the gentle and easy-going nature of the people. The island has changed of course, over the years, and while some people may bemoan the loss of the 'good old days' when electricity was supplied only by generators, and grass huts were standard accommodation, we appreciate the improved infrastructure and the addition of great restaurants and accessible commodities. And if we get up early enough and head out on our motorbike, we can still see the monks on their morning rounds, brass bowls in hand and saffron robes on body. The sunrises and sunsets are as beautiful as they ever were, and the beaches still beckon. It is a little piece of paradise, is Samui.
Ban Ton Mai is our sanctuary. We have all the creature comforts we need, including a big flat screen for my husband's viewing pleasure, and sharp Henckels knives for my forays into decent cooking. But more than that, we like the minimalist lines and design of the home, and our favorite spot of all, the terrace upstairs, hidden from view in a canopy of palm trees, with a constant breeze breathing calm on the beauty around us.
Ban Ton Mai is located in a quiet upscale residential neighborhood located in Bophut, on the north side of the island. A five minute drive in one direction takes you to the famous Fisherman's Village, home to a wide range of seafront restaurants and interesting shops, as well as two of the island's many beaches. Five minutes in another direction takes you to the more day-to-day shops of Tesco and Big C for grocery shopping. Five minutes from home is the Bophut Hills Golf Club. The main centre of Chaweng is about 15 minutes away; this is the hub for nightlife and entertainment.
