Good Condo in a Noisy Location

The unit was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. There were a number of maintenance issues but nothing too significant. The location is great as far as being able to walk to town, but the traffic noise on Henry St. was quite loud--the primary disadvantage of this unit. The ceiling fans in the BR and LR were great. Those, plus the good breeze you could get with the doors and windows open, made the AC unit entirely unnecessary. No rugs or carpeting in the unit--a negative. For some reason, maybe the breezes, the floors were always dirty--we had to wash our feet (couple times a day) anytime we were going to put on shoes or sandals to go out. The vertical blinds in the living room were a disaster; they started falling apart the first time we opened them when we arrived. We didn't touch them again the rest of the trip. I gave Kona Rentals a write-up on this before we left. That said, it was not a big deal--we never wanted to close the blinds anyway. If I was the owner I would replace them with a completely new and different product. Most everything in the unit (stove, plumbing, washer/dryer, electrical, shower, etc.) worked fine. One exception might be the garbage disposal--it made a terrible racket and there seemed to be a water leak underneath. There were some bugs in the unit, not bad, which compelled us to run all our soft garbage down the disposal, rather than put it in the trash as we normally would. This is a good unit for the money and I would recommend it to others if it wasn't for the traffic noise.

My fiance and I stayed in this suite for a month. The overall management was great to work with during the booking process, and when we had some questions the day or two after moving in. The suite is older, but is well kept and comfortable to stay in. Nearby traffic can be loud, but we got used to it quite quickly, and enjoyed the convenience that it offered.

My wife and I booked this condo through VRBO for a six night stay during the Queen Lili'uokalani Canoe races. We were very happy with our stay. The property description on VRBO was completely accurate and the place was clean and well maintained. The location was perfect, as most of the events were held at the pier, and it was only a 5 minute walk away. We had an issue getting the cable to work the first night, but when we contacted the property manager the next day, she put us in touch with the cable company and we were able to resolve it with no difficulty. we would definitely stay here again in the future.

Location was very accessible to downtown Kona and beach front shops. Property description was accurate and in general good condition. HOWEVER, bedroom was hot due to lack of airflow from AC. No elevator. Manager was not found but, could be reached by phone.

The unit is really nice, with nice tile floors and a fantastic view from the living room. The only major complaint that we had was that the bedroom doesn't have A/C, so it was a little warm to sleep with just the fan. The washing machine also didn't work, though the dryer did. Overall, a good unit at a good price, and the location was great.
