We bought this property for its stunning natural beauty and world class pampering. The picture of us that you see was taken a few hundred yards away from the property.
This resort has the finest gym of any place we have seen.
Just wanted you to know we had a wonderful time staying in your unit at the Westin last weekend. The unit was very comfortable; the Westin was first class; great staff; loved the pool and hot tubs. We had amazing weather, ate lots of good food; a great experience! Thank you, Suzanne
Pro's: Huge bathroom! Accepts dogs (great place, behind westin, to walk pups along the river). There are two dogs parks in Vail - up the road. Bed was comfortable - no back ache in the AM! Yea!!Comfortable room to hang in. Owners were great and excellent communication.
Cons; Most I addressed with owner who stated things would be fixed. I remember reading about parking across the street but the Valet stated we had to valet park because we were staying in an owner operated unit. The Westin charges to use hotel facilities; I was informed before hand.
There is a small kitchen. This is best used for meals already prepared. It is a full kitchen but not user friendly for preparing a full meal. It is a small fridge so careful what you bring.FYI.
Some folks have commented about the view; it faces the front courtyard. Look, if your going to Vail for the hotel view...why are you going to Vail? That's all I'm saying.
I would stay there again.
This room provided all the comfort, luxury, and convenience we hoped for. It was an outstanding stay.
Three of us (one adult and two 17 year olds) stayed in the room comfortably. We made use of the kitchen area which had all the utensils and cooking supplies we needed. The bathroom is large, and the decor throughout the room is very nice (Westin Standard). The facilities of the Westin are outstanding (full size and nice gym with sauna, outdoor heated pool, outdoor hot tub, etc.) The Westin also housed all our equipment such that we walked out our hotel door, stopped at the Starbucks in the hotel, crossed the hall for our gear, rode the gondola from the hotel to the ski lift, and were on the mountain in fifteen minutes! After the ski lifts closed, we were back at the hotel via the gondola and in the outdoor hot tub in short order - Excellent! We then relaxed in this comfortable room with fireplace for a bit before heading to dinner and live entertainment in the lobby/lounge area. After that, we sat out on the deck by the open fire looking up at the snow covered mountains - very peaceful.
I saw one review which commented on the lack of view. I suppose it depends on what you'll be doing during your stay. For us, we wanted to ski/snowboard with first class accommodation (luxury) at an affordable price. In our estimation, it was not nearly worth the extra cost for a room view since we enjoyed many views from all the hotel amenity locations and found it was dark by the time we were back in the room for any significant length of time anyway.
The convenience of this location (proximity, getting on/off the mountain, and logistics of equipment), coupled with the amenities of the hotel, made for an amazing stay. Thanks to the owner for her clarity, kindness, and professionalism in serving us.
We recommend this property and hope we can return soon.
Our concern was that from the info about the unit on the website, the unit we leased was represented to have a valley view, mountain vista. We were disappointed when we checked in that the view was of the Westin front entrance where the valet drop off and pick up occurs.....no view! The easy gondola access at the Westin made getting to the mountain quick.
