This fully renovated bungalow is located on Route 102A just moments from Seawall and right around the corner from the coveted Hinckley Company. This cozy cottage is perfect for a single family looking to enjoy a peaceful vacation on the 'Quietside' of the Island. The cottage boasts an inviting open concept with two bedrooms both with queen size beds. A small bunk room off the kitchen has two twin beds just right for children. The spacious front porch has overstuffed furniture perfect for curling up with a book in the afternoon sun or relaxing with a glass of wine. Simplicity is the intention of this destination. Turn off the technology and enjoy a simpler existence. Right out the front door and around the corner is Kings Lane which is perfect for a morning run by the ocean or a leisurely stroll along Southwest Harbor. Stunning Seawall and Bass Harbor Head Light are only a short bike ride away. This cottage is located directly along the route of the Explorer Bus which has stops all over the island. So leave your car in the driveway and load your bikes onto the bus and head into Acadia National Park for the day. Located only a mile and a half from downtown Southwest Harbor, you can easily enjoy amazing restaurants, quaint boutique shops, and even bicycle rentals. This cottage will continue it's 'seaside transformation' as the rental season approaches.

Thank you for inquiring about my 'cottage near the sea'. I am an elementary school teacher who has been teaching for 17 years. My husband and I have two children, ages 10 and 7, who absolutely love coming to the cottage. We spend the school year busy with sports and academics, but we always look forward to visiting our quiet oasis!
Michael and Jennifer Saucier purchased this cottage in 2010
This property is dear to my heart. I am a native of Southwest Harbor and always knew I would find my way home, even if it was only for a month in the summer. Marriage, work, and children brought me inland but the people I love are still in Southwest Harbor. I have enjoyed this property for several summers before becoming the lucky owner. Part of the deal was that I needed to rent it out for part of the summer in order to justify its expense. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
This cottage is so convenient to everything. We are about three minutes by car to the center of town where we enjoy the public library, the fantastic stores (Moody Mermaid, Under the Dogwood Tree, and Hatched on MDI are my favorites), and great food. Bar Harbor is only about 20 minutes away by car and we often go over for dinner and shopping. The cottage is incredibly convenient to the best hiking trails on the entire island, they are less than ten minutes away. Beaches, mountain trails, garden walks, biking, kayaking - you name it, it is close. We like to consider it a tech-free zone for our family, we pull out our books and boards games during our time there. For rentals we have a TV with a DVD player but while we are there we have a 'no screen' policy! We all catch up on our quality time together. My kids love to explore in the barn and out in the yard. Sea-glassing is one of mine and my daughter's favorite pastimes here on the island. You might just get lucky enough to see our fantastic collection on the windowsills, along with our heart rock collection. This simple cottage will not disappoint!
