Orcas Paradise. Bjossa Cottage at Eastpoint on Saturna Island. Literally right next to the famous Eastrpoint park where the orcas pass by almost every day from May to September. It is not unusual to see several pods together with 40 or more orcas at a time. You can even catch them passing through Tumbo Channel, between us and Tumbo Island.

Leave the city behind. Unplug and relax at our large modern 2 bedroom cottage. Enjoy breath-taking views of the Pacific Ocean, small island groups, and mountains including majestic Mount Baker, through our floor to ceiling windows all along the front of the cottage. Watch the orcas, sea lions, porpoises. deer, eagles and all manner of wild life from the large comfortable balcony. As evening approaches, sit back with a cool drink and enjoy the spectacular sunset over Tumbo Channel.

Wilderness Galore! Now that you have relaxed, you might want to explore our 53 private acres. You will find only six cottages on the waterfront of this expansive property. Kick off your shoes and walk along our crushed shell beach mmm feels good!!!!!! Or check out our sandy beach. Explore the tidal pools just beyond on another day. Or perhaps you have brought a boat; launch it at our boat launch on site. Cross the road and you will find 44 wooded acres to hike in. This is our private property so if you have a dog, let it loose.

This orca paradise is located at Eastpoint, on Saturna Island, just out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Take B.C. Ferries from Tsawwassen (Vancouver) or from Vancouver Island at Swartz Bay (Victoria). US ferry connection is from Port Angeles to Victoria Harbour.

We have been owners of 2 successful restaurants for the passed 40 years. Our passions are music and outdoor activities. We are blessed with 6 grandchildren, each with a distinct personality.

The island is magnificent and the location of the cottage perfect. Only issue was the toilet and one of the beds. Luckily my husband was a builder and could fix the water problem. Also the bed in the 2nd bedroom is not comfortable enough to sleep on. It is tiny and nothing to support the mattress. I would recommend rental as long as people are aware of these issues.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers
Owner's Response: Both toilet and matress have been replaced. As for the size of the beds in the second bedroom all three are twins. We have listened and would like to thank you for your review.

We stayed in cabin 1 and other family in cabin 2 Found them outdated and not the cleanest. The view was not as good as the other cabins at East Side resort. We did not have drinking water for 2 days and plumbing problems the whole week. Our dealings with management and owner left a lot to be desired.
Our family will not rent from these owners again.

A Little Bit of Heaven!

My husband and I and our teenaged niece from Ontario stayed at this cabin last summer for a wonderful week in July. What a view right out of our window! We enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Our biggest thrill was a pod of orcas that went sailing past us...they were along the shore for over an hour! My niece went right down to the water's edge and four of these wondrous mammals went right past her. This was the highlight of her trip to BC! We had other adventures too. We found a baby seal pup that seemed abandoned but the next morning his mom was with him. We ate at the outside bar-b-q, watched the evening sky, looked at the mountains all around us. What a wonderful experience for all of us.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
