Stunning Historic Home with an ideal In Town location and Water Views. The Ivory Goodwin House c 1.809 represents the best of both worlds. State of the art modern amenities in a masterful, museum quality renovation and addition. Featured in the Kennebunkport Fine Living Festival and Kennebunkport Historical Society Garden Tour.

Perfect location for that special gathering of family and friends. Ideal 'Home Base' for the Bride or Groom's family. Create memories during Christmas Prelude or those 'Big Chill' reunions with best friends.

There are 4 Bedrooms, with new high end marble bathrooms en suite. There are a total of 5 Baths and 2 half Baths.

In addition there is the Captain's Hideaway Loft and Balcony with panoramic harbor views. Pull out sofa bed, half bath, mini frig and office set up.

The bedrooms are beautifully appointed with antiques, Stark Carpeting and Raplh Lauren Fabrics. Two bedrooms have gas fireplaces. Some have water views. The Master Bedroom has an incredible spa like bathroom with a seamless glass shower room including air jet soaking tub, rain fall shower heads and other high end fixtures.

Amenities include Central Air Conditioning, In House Music System, Flat Screen TV in all Bedrooms and the Great Room, WIFI and 4 Fire Places (3 gas/1 wood burning)

The home has incredible public space for your enjoyment and entertaining. The Living Room is spacious with a wood burning fireplace and wet bar. The Dining Room has a gas fireplace and exquisite tiger maple dining table that seats 10. There is a fully equipped Kitchen. The large Great Room has stunning architectural detail with sumptuous furniture, flat screen TV and music system. French doors lead to a granite terrace.

The Grounds are nothing short of incredible. Manicured and styled in the tradition of Williamsburg, with lilac topiaries, rose bushes and boxwood hedges. The stone patio and terrace is a work of art and a wonderful spot to relax and entertain. To top it off, the horse and carriage go by.

Located in the Historic District of Kennebunkport surrounded by Ship Captain's Homes. The home is 1 block from Ocean Avenue and the Village Green, a 5 minute walk from Dock Square and a short walk to Colony Beach.

The original house is in the Greek Revival Style c.1809. The Ivory Goodwin House (as it is known) was named after it's original owner Ivory Goodwin. Goodwin was a master ship building craftsman and captain of the ferries to the islands off Cape Porpoise.

What makes this house unique

The home is very unique and NOT a typical rental property. The house has been painstakingly restored with a new architecturally sensitive addition. The result combines the best of old world charm and state of the art modern amenities. Every convenience and comfort has been taken into account. The physical location is incredible. Literally walk to everything. You constantly are aware of the water and the nautical history and heritage of the Kennebunkport.

There are wonderful dining options, art galleries and shops within a 5 minute walk. The property is beautiful inside and out. The Williamsburg style grounds and landscaping are exquisite and represent a very unique feature of the property. Whether it's Spring, Summer, Fall or during Christmas Prelude the inside and outside of the house complement each other in a very unique and special way.

The photographs of this house are lovely but it is even more beautiful in person. We found everything in shipshape condition from the stunning room and deck on the third floor to the private, lower level bedroom suite with flatscreen tv and really cool full bath. We were there during the winter so LOVED sipping wine by the fireplace in the cozy, beautifully decorated living room. Would love to go back in the summer months to take advantage of the patio and outside dining space. If you are planning a get-away with friends, this house is perfect since each bedroom offers a private bath, fireplace and flat screen tv. We loved that we could leave our car in the driveway and walk to town. Our expectations were exceeded the second we stepped in the front door.

It is a great house for entertaining, both indoors and out. Living areas include a beautiful living room that opens to the stone terrace, a comfortable, spacious great room that overlooks the garden, a media room—and best of all, the fabulous tower room with incredible views of the river and ocean beyond, complete with its own private balcony. No detail has been overlooked in the meticulous renovation—and expansion—of the house. Finishes are all high end, and reflect the owners’ attention to detail and a level of taste rarely found in a vacation rental. Perfect for a family or 2 or 3 couples who are looking for a special place to create special memories.
