THE 'BURROW', A LUXURY CAROLINA MOON LOG CABIN

If you're looking to get away to a nice, roomy cabin in the rural countryside, this is a great option. When we arrived, the cabin was clean. The bedrooms were really great -- very comfortable mattresses, luxury linens, and high quality comforters on the bed. We all slept wonderfully. Both bedrooms have a roomy attached 3-4 piece bathroom. The roomy master bedroom (king bed) is downstairs and the second bedroom (queen bed) is upstairs. The kitchen is well stocked for those who like to cook (it even included a hand mixer, slow cooker, blender, lots of cookware, tupperware, etc.). The basement /den area is really roomy with a pool table, large leather sectional sofa, tv, collection of DVDs, board games, a powder room, and laundry room with washer, dryer, and ironing board. The pool table wasn't properly leveled, but it was still fun for playing a few games. The hot tub is on an upper-level deck off of the kitchen. It doesn't have a flight of steps to access the backyard so it's great for those with young children or with pets. The "bed-swing" on the front porch, well-stocked with indoor/outdoor cushions, is a great place to relax. The one thing for us that wasn't ideal about the cabin was that it wasn't surrounded by accessible walking or hiking trails and other hiking spots are a bit of a drive away.

As for location, it's about a 15-20 minute drive into Hendersonville which has some great restaurants (like Never Blue), and about 40 minutes into downtown Asheville. We thought the distance would be a concern for our stay, but the drives seemed relatively quick while on the road. Chimney Rock is about a 25 minute drive since the cabin is directly south of the park and the only park entrance is on the north side.

I'd recommend this cabin for those with young children, teens, or pets, who want to enjoy their stay at a nice home and can stay at least 3 or more days to experience fun things to do and see in the area.
