Welcome to our beautifully decorated condominium with long-range mountain views. We are in Unit 13C in the Reserve II, which is the newest complex on Sugar Mountain.
The unit overlooks the ski slopes and has slope access at the bottom of the complex. There is a flat-screen TV in the living room with a Blueray DVD player. The master bedroom has a king bed, deck access, and a flat-screen TV/DVD combo. The second bedroom contains twin beds, which makes this ideal for children! There also is a sleeper sofa in the living room, so the condo can sleep six. Although there is no phone, cell phone coverage tends to be good. Wi-Fi is provided and the unit has key-less entry.
Why the Owner Chose Sugar Mountain: We love this area and all of the activities that are available. These condos are brand-new and well-constructed with spectacular views.
We had a wonderful time in this condo over the holiday break! There were five of us (my husband and myself, my daughter (23) and her friend, and our son (13), and we found the accommodations beautifully decorated and highly functional. This was a very cold weekend with temps ranging from the single digits to the low 30’s. We were a bit concerned that we might be chilly in the condo but it was pleasantly warm and there were plenty of extra blankets for sleeping. The view from the balcony is amazing, with long range mountain and town vistas, and the ski slopes down below. The proximity to the slopes does bring with it the constant sound of the snow machines, but this is a very minor nuisance in exchange for a wonderful location. This condo is a 5 minute drive from skiing, ice skating, and tubing- plenty to keep everyone happy for days. The town of Banner Elk is also 5 minutes away and it offers several great restaurants, a grocery store, and sporting goods stores to purchase ski or winter gear. Ski rentals are also available at the Sugar Mountain ski resort. I would definitely recommend this condo and hope to visit again someday.
*A word to the wise: If you are visiting during the winter, I strongly recommend having a 4WD/AWD vehicle or snow chains. This condo is nearly at the top of the mountain and roads can be icy and/or snowy. There was thick coat of ice and snow for 3 of the 4 days we were there (we have a Subaru so we had no problems but we saw several vehicles struggling to maneuver the terrain).
We are enjoying our last night in your beautiful, clean condo. Our family of 4 (2 adults,2 teens) stayed the weekend after Christmas for 4 nights. The beds were comfy and the kitchen perfect for cooking small, quick meals. The location of the condo is perfect if you want to ski. You can see Sugar Mountain skiing going on below from the balcony. We enjoyed 2 days of skiing at Sugar Mountain and 1 session of tubing at Hawksnest Tubing & Zipline Park, both close by. The weather was just what we wanted...SNOWY.We loved coming back to the condo in the evenings to sit by the fireplace. Grocery stores and restaurants are very close. If you come in the winter, bring snow chains for your tires or a 4 wheel drive vehicle, as the weather is unpredicable. We would highly recommend your condo to anyone. Thanks for a wonderful family vacation.
Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful condo! It was nice, new, roomy and comfortable, and we loved the 'bear' decor. We came for the skiing, and it wasn't that bad considering the little amount of snowfall this year. We will highly recommend this condo to all our friends.
We had such a fun weekend at your condo! Thank you so much for being so kind on such short notice. We can't wait for next year!
What a wonderful spot in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina! Spacious, comfortable, fantastic views and beautifully decorated -- not much more you could ask for! The cool weather was amazing for us since we live in HOT Atlanta. Thank you for sharing this special place! Good restaurants close by -- just drive down the mountain! We hope to return soon!
We had such a "good and restful" time here at the Reserve / Sugar Mountain. Your place was so nice and comfortable, it really felt like home !!! Also, the million dollar view all the way to Tennessee from the deck is spectacular. Having a new place completely furnished, means all you need is to bring your toothbrush and enjoy the rest of your time.
Found two good restaurant's in Banner Elk ... The Painted Fish and Puerto Nieva (menu's are in the condo). Also, try the chairlift up from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort ... fun time.
BEST OF ALL ...not having to use air conditioning in July was a "big" plus (wonderful to escape 90+ back home).
Can't wait to come back soon !!!!
