The Ponderosa is the premier rental lodge at Roddy Tree Ranch Resort, featuring beautiful Guadalupe River views from the family room, dining area, and multiple outdoor porches. Enjoy the comfortable, spacious Ponderosa and the adjacent sunlight-filled Bunkhouse with up to 16 family members and friends!
Enjoy the beautiful Hill Country riverfront setting - or explore the many attractions in the surrounding area including Kerrville, Fredericksberg, Bandera, and San Antonio. Enjoy quiet evenings reading by the fireplace, or stargazing on one of the porches.
The Ponderosa has plenty of room for relaxing indoors and out, making it the perfect gathering place for a family reunion, couples getaway, or simply reconnecting with family and friends. Western furnishings and décor throughout the lodge and Bunkhouse enhance the Hill Country setting.
Inside the Ponderosa, there is a large river-view Family Room with a limestone fireplace, large-screen HDTV (with satellite TV/DVR service), comfortable sitting area, and a large table perfect for card games or jigsaw puzzles. One of the sofas in the family room has a fold-out double bed, making it a cozy fireside place to sleep!
The Living Room has another large limestone fireplace, TV with DVD, and comfortable couches for relaxing in front of the fire or a good movie.
The large window-wrapped, eat-In Kitchen is fully equipped, has a large island for food prep and serving, and a large dining table that easily accommodates 8-10 diners. Views of the cypress-lined riverfront and nearby hills make it a wonderful place to dine.
Multiple Outdoor Patios complete with cushioned wrought-iron outdoor furniture provide additional space for grilling & al fresco dining, reading and relaxing – all with direct views of the beautiful riverfront below. If it happens to rain, don't worry - there's a large covered Screened Porch with additional seating and dining space.
Master Bedroom features: a king bed, plenty of closet space and a Private Bath with a large walk-in shower (no tub).
2nd Bedroom features: a queen bed plus bunk twin beds, and lots of closet space.
3rd Bedroom features: two twin beds, and large-light-filled windows.
Shared Bathroom (for 2nd and 3rd bedrooms) features: bathtub with showerhead, and plenty of cabinets to store your toiletries.
The Bunkhouse has a wide-open cabin-style floorplan, with a queen bed, a full-size futon sitting/sleeping area, and bunk twin beds.
Bunkhouse Bathroom features: Shower (no tub), large vanity for storing toiletries.
Both the Ponderosa and Bunkhouse have heating and air conditioning, but you’ll be tempted to open up the many window to let in the lovely Hill Country breezes!
The Ponderosa and Bunkhouse are located on Roddy Tree Ranch, a 50-acre riverfront resort property with lots of amenities availalble for your use: 2 pools, a fishing pond, a large riverfront (canoes, paddles, & life-jackets provided), basketball court, volleyball & badminton courts, horseshoe pits, 2 large playground structures, a tree-house, a game room with ping-pong and Foosball, and a terrific outdoor pavilion with jukebox and live music (seasonal).
You’ll feel comfortable letting your kids loose to explore the secured property while you relax, but with so many options for activities around the property it will be easy to find something you all enjoy together!
